Thanks Harry, for having the courage to say what many of us wish we had said. I admire your calm response in the face of unfreindly environment. This president should be ashame of himself for sacrificing the future of our country in order to serve his own selfish interest. He should go doen in history as the president that couldn’t. Thank you for speaking the truth.

    Dear Harry,
I know that you do speak for many of us in San Francisco. I appreciate your truthful and heartfelt comments – and particularly the respectful way in which you offered them. My hope is that those of us who oppose the current Bush Adminstration policies of aggression, divisiveness and lack of compassion will counter with the truth, commitment, clear thinking and compassion that really can change the world. (I feel sad that a few of the comments posted here sound so cutting – because I feel the need to respect others – particularly those whom I stand in opposition to).
I applaud your courage and your words.
    With thanks,
    Tomi

    Dear Mr.Taylor,
I was very proud of you for having the courage to stand up and say “the Emperor has no clothes.” Putting yourself on the line in these troubled times, shows a great deal of courage. You have my deepest thanks.

Thanks Mr. Taylor for having the nerve to stand up and say what needed to be said. I think this president is completely out of touch with what is going on in this country. He has no plans for the war except to keep saying we are turning the corner. He is out trying to promote a failed health care program while young men are dying. He has leaked sensitive information and has blown the cover of an Intelligence Agent. It just goes on and on. I dont know where the country will end up in another three years.

Thank you Harry for demonstrating so PLAINLY the level of FREEDOM we enjoy in this country (where else can you criticize a president to his face). Thank you for being frank about your KOOKY LEFTIST opinions. Thank Bush that he was so gracious to you.

    Finally,

Thank you Harry for showing how ridiculous your hatred of Bush is….

Thank you, Mr. Taylor for your courage. You spoke what so many of us believe, with such a clear, steady and eloquent voice. I imagine it is the first time in years Bush has heard anything like that. I hope your voice inspires others to speak out as well.

  17. #17 by Lisa Galbraith on April 7, 2006 - 7:38 pm

Bless you for speaking up and for so many of us. I particularly appreciate how you thanked Bush for allowing you to speak. Your graciousness carries more weight than an angry retort would have. If bush only had the guts to listen, he would understand the value of what you said. What scares me the most about Bush is the outright destruction of our American civil liberties, and his wonton destruction of human life in Iraq. I feel significantly less safe as an American traveling abroad since his presidency than I ever did before his terms in office.
Thank you again for saying what you did.

Hallelujah !!! I am so proud of you. You’ve done what our elected leaders have not had the guts to do and you’ve put them all to shame. Thank you so very much, especially for alluding to the arrogant, frightening leadership we
are finally waking up to… and the shame he should feel for every life lost in this dumb war…U.S. and Iraqi.

Thanks, Harry – for standing up and speaking for American women who are tired of Bush’s authoritarian and paternalistic approach to ‘freedom’…and your critics? They’re all just spouting the same rhetoric that comes out of the Bush camp because they can’t come up with anything intelligent or thoughtful to say. As Forrest Gump so eloquently says (or was it his mother?), “Stupid is as stupid does,” and the president and his fans prove that every day. Your actions didn’t embarrass you as your critics are saying; they brought to light the embarrassment that many Americans feel about living in a country full of ignorant sheep. You rock!

  23. #23 by Dick C. on April 7, 2006 - 7:39 pm

It’s refreshing to see an event like this which is not limited to Republican sycophants. That you were able to express the feelings of millions was great.
Let us hope that there is no retrobution for your exercise of free speech!

Thank you, Harry Taylor, for being a voice for all of us who will never get the chance to speak our minds to George Bush and his “friends”. We appreciate the fact that you stood up to his hand picked fan club and proceeded to express your opinions, and ours! Thanks again from Tennessee!

This needs to be communicated to our nation, and perhaps, if free speech can still be broadcasted, this could be ruled a ground rule triple. Now, if the Nation listens, we may have scored a run.

All my praise to Harry and let the people be heard!!!

  31. #31 by Todd Pries on April 7, 2006 - 7:44 pm

Harry – Thank you. You spoke from the bottom of your heart what has been boiling up in mine for the past half a decade. I applaude your c ourage and conviction – your humility and your well mannered delivery. I’ll keep it brief and simply say thank you for your insipiration. We all need to put our two cents forth as elloquently and effectively as you have put them to Mr. Bush.

Thank you Harry Taylor. Words cannot express how proud I felt hearing your words. Although our president does not appear to feel any sense of shame, I as an American, am ashamed of our actions. No man of character could cause the harm that Bush has caused to this entire planet through his decisions and not feel some remorse, but he seems oblivious to all of it. I am a proud American and I support our troops and our veterans at every opportunity – but I will never support a war that was based on falsehoods and entered into with reckless abandon. With the world watching us after 9-11 we could have made a stand against terrorists and found allies in every corner. Instead we are hated because we acted like a bully and through our actions caused far more death and destruction than the hijackers.
He spies and lies and finally you said to his face what so many of us have thought.
Thank you for speaking for all of us.

Thank you for your heroic statement to George W. Bush. I hope that somewhere in his confused muddled way of thinking that you planted a seed of doubt in that “I’m on the side of God and therefore never wrong”, veneer he has emeshed himself with and is reinforced by all of the suck ups he is surrounded with.

Perhaps that is why he let you speak because he feels a desperate need to hear the truth and no one on his team will speak it.

By a gentle simple statement you make us proud to be Americans again.

    Thank you Harry.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, dear Harry Taylor. One thank you is just not enough for your speaking out for so many of us Your courage to speak in what was obviously a hostile crowd is truly commendable. This has picked up my spirits and a hope for a better future.

  40. #40 by Lisa Dickenson on April 7, 2006 - 7:46 pm

Thank-you, thank-you, a thousand times, thank-you! Thank you for presenting your comments with such a calm intelligence, that no one could mistake you for some left-fringe lunatic. Mr. Bush should be ashamed of himself, but I don’t think he has either the moral backbone or intelligence to make those distinctions in his life. Speaking a lie does not make it the truth.

  41. #41 by Betsy on April 7, 2006 - 7:47 pm

Harry, Thanks for giving more of us guts and energy to continue working against this frightening administration. We need to hear more of us saying what you said over and over, in many venues to make sure others understand that we’re not ‘only a few crazy folks in the crowd’. PEACE!

    Thank you Harry,

You stated what many Americans, despite their political affiliation, should be stating. Politics have allowed this President to do what he has done for the last five years. We as Americans should be outraged by what is happening to our country and our standing in the world. Political affiliation must take a back seat to what the President is doing to ALL AMERICANS.

  49. #49 by Robert on April 7, 2006 - 7:51 pm

    Harry,
First off, I would like to congratulate you for jumping down Bush’s throat yesterday. Even though you were surrounded by Bush lovers, you still had the intestinal fortitude to throw him a good dose of the truth about how him and his administration have all but run AMERICA in the ground. You got him good my friend and the only thing he could do was make stupid jokes while you were ripping his heart out(if he has one) and handing it back to him. I am a
100% service connected Disabled American Veteran, so it really hit home for me. Rest assured that there are millions and millions of Americans that stand with you, and are willing to do whatever it takes to turn what used to be a proud and respected country back into the America that it used to be before Bush got his slimey little hands on it. I have my doubts if America will ever recover after eight years of George W. Bush, but with GREAT Americans like you,and the rest of us just begging to be heard; who knows??

  50. #50 by Deb Walter on April 7, 2006 - 7:51 pm

I only wish people with the power to change the government’s behavior would take a lesson from Mr. Taylor. Democrats, are you listening? Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for your courage and the strength of your convictions in giving so many of us a voice straight to the “horse’s mouth”.

Thank you for reading my mind and expressing so eloquently what I wanted to say, I know that Bush is certifiably paranoid, believing God speaks to him, and his intelligence is just barely in the normal range. A scary combination that most Americans refuse to believe, but unless he is censured and impeached the nation and its’ people will be further damaged beyond repair.

  54. #54 by Kim Robert Nilsen on April 7, 2006 - 7:53 pm

    Mr. Harry Taylor,

May I express my sincere gratitude to you for exercising your First Amendment rights and expressing your quiet yet forceful outrage in the company of president Bush and the usual pro-Bush audiences his front men pull together in local communities.

In truth, you spoke for millions and millions of us who are appauled at the policies and behavior of this administration.

May you continue to speak loud and clear. Your voice is ringing across this once great land.

  55. #55 by Randy! on April 7, 2006 - 7:53 pm

Thank you Harry Taylor! We’re piggybacking on your resolve, but it does not make it any less wonderful what you have done. It’s amazing the difference one person can make, one action can make.

  56. #56 by Nicole on April 7, 2006 - 7:55 pm

Harry, Sir. I had the misfortune of seeing the interview with you on Inside Edition after they hacked up your words to the President. The reporter kept saying things like “Don’t you think you were being disrepectful?!?!” and “This is the President?!?” as if the leader of the free world can’t take critism! That reporters questions only emphasized the reason for people like you to remind us of our blessing and rights under a Democracy by and for the people. As an African American woman I’m only 1 generation removed from an America that denied me my civil rights by law. We can’t allow this administration to destroy everything we ALL have worked hard to create. So, thank you, Harry for being one of many hereos in our fight to reclaim this country.

  57. #57 by Single Women Voters on April 7, 2006 - 7:55 pm

Thank you to a very gracious and poised Harry Taylor. You broke into the scripted world of this president and his administration and stood up for your heart-felt beliefs without waivering to the crass politics of the crowd. I hope more of us find strength in your actions, especially those single voters out there who may be turned off to the political battles that ensue daily. Thank you for including the struggles of women in your comments; it’s nice to know we have some men on our side.

Thank You Harry Taylor. The insanity that perverts our political system is overwhelming at times. Republicans and Democrats alike have broken our Country and, at times, my spirit. But you have voiced the concerns and outrage that millions of Americans feel in simple straightforward terms. And hopefully in a way that will cause our President and those closest to him to realize how they have failed us and the ideals that once made this country great.

    WAY TO GO HARRY—MY MAN!!

I don’t have the courage to do what you did but I have the capacity to write and make some sense. I wrote a letter the President and posted it on my blog:

    http://orbstandard.com/JMungai/?p=24

    Dear Mr. President,

I’m not surprised by the news that you authorized Scooter Libby to reveal classified information simply to discredit your critics.

I’m not even amazed you yourself said you would get to the bottom of this matter and fire anyone found to have participated in the leaking of classified information.

In fact, I am not even shocked you were lying to the American public when you said those words?

And, I am absolutely positive you cannot atone for your egregious behavior.

What I find appalling is our Congress that continues to allow you to destroy some of the decent things this country once had to offer. Your own handpicked staff can’t even get their stories straight, was it 1000 mistakes you made or more?

If our President has the right to lie to the world then you are saying judges, lawyers, witnesses, defendants and plaintiffs can lie in a court of law. Or is that the norm now too?

You could resign today and the repercussions of your oath to office would still be felt for centuries to come, should this planet survive that long.

I am copying my representative and senators on this letter, and ask that you send me a reply with your views on this matter.

    Sincerely,
    Joseph A. Mungai, RN

Thank you Harry Taylor for speaking for all Americans who are upset with what is happening to this great nation. We are only in our thirties and have never been more frustrated with how the rest of the world preceives America through the misguided actions of this administration. The sad thing is that this apple did fall close to the tree and we still elected him, twice. Once and for all, someone finally DID stick it to “the man” with iron clad justification.

You remind our nation that this administration can not continue to strip citizens of their rights, to suit their own agenda, to make a laughing stock of people who simply disagree with them and speak their mind.

Thanks, Harry, for going into the belly of the beast and giving voice to the frustration and yes, the anger of so many of your fellow Americans. That took a lot of courage to stand up in front of that hand picked bunch of willfull idiots when you knew there’d be the usual goons lurking around this event, congrats on skirting the screening.

It is people like Harry Taylor who help to make a real difference and bring about change!! I ‘talk’ about making things better, but dont know that I would have the courage to do what Harry did. I would like to express my graditude and awe for the awesome and eloquent remarks that Harry made to the President. You were able to give a voice to the thoughts of millions of Americans — and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!

Thank you Harry Taylor for standing up and speaking out. I hope your courage will pass to others so that this will be a tipping point for America.

    Well done Harry

You give me courage to see truth speak directly to power. I hope in my campaign for US Senate here in Utah that I can bring as clear and direct a challenge to the shameful conduct of much of our leadership.

I know that it is going to take a nation of Harry Taylors not a handful of political appointees to turn things around and just pray we all find the courage of your example to act.

    Thank you

Thank you, Harry Taylor, for speaking truth to power. While “thank you” seems totally inadequate for what you did yesterday, they are the only words I have. You have helped give me hope that we will get through this. Your remarks were eloquent and we are forever in your debt!

Thank you, thank you Harry for speaking “our” mind. You said it and it surely needed to be said! You’re our her0 Harry Taylor!!! Unfortunately the Gutless Wonder of the Whitehouse doesn’t have a conscience. (A requirement if one were to feel ashamed.) I hope that all of these responses are eventually forwarded to the White House. Maybe then King George will realize what the “chattering masses” really thnk of him. And beyond that, hopefully, Congress will vote for censure.

Thank you, thank you, a thousand times thank you!!!!!!!

    Dear Harry,

To say THANK YOU and we are all proud of you seems so…trivial.

You stood more presidential, more diplomatic than the would be President.

Harry – you did what Every Congressman, every media pro, and EVERY AMERICAN should have been doing every day for at least the past two years.

Hopefully more will follow your lead…

Thasnks Again …[and watch your back]

Thank God somebody has the guts to stand up for the dignity of American citizens. You had the opportunity to challenge the leader of the free world and did it masterfully. I can only hope he takes your comments to heart and I hope they keep him up at night. Thank you for speaking for us in a way we can only do (and will do) at the polls.

    Mr. Taylor,
I’m so relieved that there was one humanitarian in the room — one person who spoke with grace; one that was sincere in word and literate in diction; one who spoke with respect; one who effectively communicated the serious concerns of the people; one person who showed compassion and class. There was but one who embodied the power of American democracy.

Too bad that person was not the President.

You, kind sir, hold that honor.

  94. #94 by colette on April 7, 2006 - 9:25 pm

    Harry,

Thank you for speaking your truth. It is a truth that many other people share. I know it is not easy to say a truth that is not popular, or may be perceived as rude (how could you say that in front of the president), but it is a truth we share. I can only hope I have your courage should the time come that I am called upon to speak my truth. I will try, for you have inspired me and I see that I can do so without malice toward any person..but I will try to speak my truth. Thank you for your courage and heart.

Way to go Harry. This idiot is the biggest crook that America has ever seen. He is arrogant, above the law, a hypocrite, a liar and a thief and above all, a murderer of young men and women, needlessly. You had the guts to stand up and say it. I wish we all did. Way to go. You are absolutely the best.

  96. #96 by john bristol on April 7, 2006 - 9:36 pm

Harry….you should be ashamed of yourself. Your an incredible boob. In 2001, three thousand plus Americans were incinerated in one of the most horrific attacks that the United States has sustained since Pearl Harbor. Since then our President, George Bush, has done everything within his power to insure that those responsible are brought to justice as well as to increase our homeland security so as to insure our safety and security. Since you are, in fact, so stupid I thought as a start I’d point that out to you.

Next, in our countries efforts against terrorism, many Americans have put their life on the line both in Afghanistan and in Iraq. Our armed forces have sustained casualties resulting in deaths in both of these fronts. Your remarks sir are an insult to the “last full measure of their devotion” that they honorably gave.

Shame on you sir, Shame on you!

    most sincerely….John T. Bristol

I have been around for nearly 80 years and am a WWll veteran, so I have seen more than a few Presidents. Thank you Harry Taylor. I could not believe my eyes when I read the account of your bravery in the paper yesterday. I am amazed that you were allowed to speak at all. You said what millions of us think but never have the opportunity to say outloud in a public forum. This “freedom” president who talks about how our enemies “hate freedom” is in fact the one who hates freedom especaily our freedom to speak and to assemble. I am distressed by the fact that you were booed for speaking out. It shows the deep divisions in our country and how many people are still under Bush’s spell.
Thank you again Mr. Taylor. I hope your courage will spark a revolution.

I think Harry Taylor is a real hero and should be commended for the courage it took for him to stand up and tell the President how incompetent his administration has been. I am surprised that he was given the chance to speak his mind since this administration has, in the past, silenced any criticsm. Hurray for Harry!!!

The best tribute we can give to Harry Taylor is to write, call, e mail otherwise contact our self-serving, cowardly Democratic reps. and tell them to now try to show even half the courage Harry Taylor showed us in his speech.. This should NOT be confined to ONE u.s. citizen! Then, when some yahoo (excuse the expression) shows up in our town, will we have the balls to stand up like Harry did, or is Harry gonna do the work for all of us, including CONGRESS?

Thank you Harry, and thank you for creating this blog from my very own home state of Utah. I am so rarely proud of Utah politically, and at this moment I am proud! As a Utahn by birth, I know honesty is a primary value in Utah. Let’s see how Bush does on honesty. Bush: Lies about Hurricane Katrina (”I don’t think anyone foresaw the breeching of the levees”), lies about the information links in the Valerie Plame affair (”I don’t know of anybody in my administration who leaked classified information”), lies about wiretaps (”We’re talking about getting a warrant. Nothing has changed here”) lies about tax cuts and how they are helping people when actually they are increasing the disparity between rich and poor in our country, and most of all lies lies and double lies about Iraq, the centerpiece of duping, bankrupting, insane and all around terrible policy that will ever define the presidency of George W. Bush.

  117. #117 by ffa on April 8, 2006 - 7:48 am

THANK YOU Harry for saying what our inside-the-beltway Democratic “leaders” REFUSE to say…. or even aknowledge! With, that is, a few courageous exceptions, for example Rep. Conyers, Rep. Waxman, and Rep. Slaughter, all of whom have been TIRELESS in confronting the mendacities and/or crimes of the Bush White House.

Speaking of, here is Rep. Slaughter’s ** 118 page pdf ** documenting the CORRUPTION of the Bush-Republican Party. House Minority “leader” Nancy Pelosi TOOK THE LINK OFF of her website, when the Repubs started moaning and crying about Rep. Slaughter’s compilation!

    http://www.firedupamerica.com/system/files?file=AmericaForSale.pdf

I have become so tired of WAITING for Democrats to say the obvious – what Harry Taylor so eloquently and courageously did – that I have started my own compilation, “cowardlyDemocrats.blogspot.com”, just to list some of the scandals that the Democrats pre-positioin themselves TO IGNORE as so much water over the dam.

The Democratic “leadership” refusal to CONFRONT Mr. Bush – as Harry Taylor so eloquently did – serves to ENABLE the president who stole one if not both of his election “wins.”

Thanks Again, Mr. Taylor, for saying what we have been begging, praying, and waiting to hear from our elected officials.

IT is incredible, the posts consist of 3 sentiments, hats off to Harry, but when it mattered the only person I saw saying the things needed to said was ROBERT BYRD!

    Harry is my hero.

    Harry is going to disappear.

    Harry is courageous and knowledgeable.

I refer to the last 10 seconds of bushes reply in the video. “I am not apoligizing to anyone”

So, what does any of this mean apart from more gladhanding? Are you going to impeach the guy or WHAT? Gloves of Nancy, when pray tell do we begin?

The eruption of support for Harry while impressive is really rather sad. That while there is the internet buzz about his statements, the reality IS that bush is the president and no matter what, has altered the path of this Nation, likely forever, while most democrats voted the geniuses way, every chance they got. Very few representatives fought it.

Now we get a show of how one man feels, where the **** were any of you when bush was powerful and there was real risk in saying what Harry did? Now it’s easy. Get over yourselves. Harry now can’t make up for what democrats DIDN’T do in the past. SAD!

  120. #120 by Christine Johnson, SLC on April 8, 2006 - 8:56 am

To be in a position of public service requires humility and compassion. Unfortunately, when confronted by a U.S. Citizen who speaks with sincerity and honesty, President Bush evidences his arrogance and lack of understanding. Despite record disapproval ratings and global distrust of American foreign policy, the President proceeds without even questioning consequences. To justify the wire-tapping of American Citizens through an unjustifiable war is senseless. To every American for whom this event has been disturbing or infuriating, I say, find a good Democratic Candidate, one for whom real values and compassion are the motto. Support that candidate through donations and volunteerism and help bring a future of rational and reasonable leadership to every City, County and State. If we are going to complain about the process, we need to be willing to change the process. Get out there and make it happen!

Hello Harry, I’m proud of you. I’m absolutely appalled that you were booed in a country, allegedly proud of being able to speak freely. I don’t know how you slipped in, but we need to have more of us to have the opportunity to speak directly and frankly to George Bush in public, with witnesses such as media with enough courage to broadcast the event. I suspect that if that happens, George Bush’s town meeting will stop. We need to have the same activity with all polititians at their town hall meetings.

Thank you for having the chutzpah to express what so many of us have been thinking for these past 6 years and to do it in such a public forum. It is about time someone really speaks out about this administration and this President. People should be very scared and ashamed. Even though the President appeared ( as usual) not to be affected by the comment Harry Taylor made, the people that heard what he had to say are maybe now thinking–If Harry Taylor can do it so can I. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you Harry Taylor for saying what so many of us have been feeling, thinking and saying for so long. The only difference here is that you had press coverage, so many people could hear what you thought are and see how the President responded–as always–with indifference. He might not be ashamed of himself, but I am sure ashamed of him. Harry Taylor I am very PROUD of you. THANK YOU!!!!!!!

I’m a registered Republican that has been voting Democrat the last few election cycles. I’m tired of this administration’s and the Republican’s deficit spending, deceit, and general pandering to corporate interests and ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS

Karl Rove’s spin of: [If you like your guns, hate abortion, hate gays and love god...then vote R] won over the heartland voters. Harry, you have lifted the hearts of more than half of our country and the most of the rest of the world. Thank you for speaking for more than 50 million Americans and billions of citizens of Planet Earth. Those of us more tongue-tied thank you and must resolve to use whatever communications we can utilize to save our democracy from the demons of greed. Everyone must tell editors, representatives, Justices, and the White House how you feel; email or snail-mail, make them aware of the depth of our despair and the reams of our resolve.

  142. #142 by Tom Dolan on April 8, 2006 - 3:08 pm

When a window of opportunity opens, you need to leap right through it. That is what Harry did. So rare is it that Bush finds himself exposed to honest critisism, that to watch his public appearances would lead anyone to believe that this country stands unified behind this administration. The exact opposite is true and proved over and over again by every possible poll taken. Harry had the smarts to get a microphone in his hands at this event and the courage to elequently express the feelings of the majority of Americans. Don’t let Harry’s moment in the sun exist only an anomaly. Show your support of Harry and don’t be afraid to stand up and speak out firmly about your opinions regarding this administration. Organize in a strong showing on April 15th that proves that Harry is not just a man with an opinion, but was the first honest American given the opprotunity to face down Bush in his own (normally stealth) forum.

  143. #143 by Deb on April 8, 2006 - 3:22 pm

Three cheers for fellow American citizen Harry Taylor! Managing to slip into one of our President’s pre-screened audiences–amazing! Even more amazing, getting to the microphone and saying what is on the minds of the majority of US citizens. We’re tired of being lied to and not having represention by our elected officals. I hope more like you come forward and unite this nation once more. It’s a shame the tailspin that our natino has been in for both of the Bush’s administrations. Losing our jobs to outsourcing or to illegal aliens, losing our pensions and benefits to corporate greed. As a middle class person I’m reminded of Marie Antoinette, and waiting for the head chopping revolt to begin. Thank you Harry!

Such dignity and honesty, clarity and composure; alas that our President does not share the same qualities! Bush has no clue (as usual) how he embarressed himself by making a childish joke in response and then asserting his usual General Custer-style refusal to even critically reflect upon much less alter his course. Mr Taylor demonstrated a deeply principled civic loyalty that the media rarely acknowleges or promotes.
    Thank you for your courage!

Harry, WOW! I was astounded, gleeful and awestruck as I heard your comments on Air America Radio. Wish I could’ve been there in person. You are my new hero for saying everything I think with such amazing grace & style. Wish each of us could remain so calm as we state our truth in the face of overwhelming idiocy.
    THIS TEXAN LOVES YOU!

Your lucid, dignified statement of opposition to Bush’s policies was in sharp contrast to his appalling ignorance. I commend you for standing your ground in the face of mindless booing from delusional Bush supporters. How bad does it have to get at home and abroad before the radical Republicans acknowledge how the Bush crime family has driven this country off a cliff? Thank you for exhibiting grace and courage under pressure!

At last, someone with real courage and integrity! Many million thanks.

I commend you Harry for having the nerve to say to the worst president in recent memory what so many Americans are saying! These people in power have to be stopped some way. We are all tired of being lied to , talked down to and being ignored by this administration, and court for that matter. They are anethma to the majority of people in this country. Even some of their own party seem to have had enough of them.
You were eloquent, thank you for what you did and I wish I had the chance to!

Join the campaign for progressive legislation http://www.boycott-republicans.com

I seek activist volunteers to pass this letter around for a project that will force the speaker of the House Dennis Hastert to enact progressive legislation. I also seek volunteer activists to do this project to force Senator Frist to enact progressive legislation.

If you want to send me email please place the word PRIVATE in the subject or it will not reach me. Thank you.

Send the following letter to Speaker Hastert and Senator Frist. After you send them email or US mail drop me an email that you sent them email so I can keep track of how many emails and letters they receive, thank you.

Pass this progressive agenda or face a mass boycott of Republican contributors.

I demand that you get the Republican Party to hold a press conference and accede to these demands. Until such a press conference happens and the legislation and/or actions gets passed I will boycott products from Republican contributors Walmart, Wendy’s, Outback Steak House, Dominos Pizza, Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Eckerd, CVS and Walgreens, Curves for women health clubs, GE and Exxon/Mobil.

I demand that congress pass legislation ending the war in Iraq and withdraw the troops and arrange with the United Nations to replace US troops with UN troops to defend Iraq until The Iraqi army can defend Iraq.

I demand that the Republican party end their aggressive and hateful action to end a woman’s right to choose abortion or not.

I demand that the Congress of the United states and the president of the United States enact a law to increase the minimum wage to TEN dollars an hour and also to extend unemployment benefits to a year or more for all people whose unemployment benefits expired after 6 months even though they still seek work.

I demand that the Congress of the United States to not privatize social security benefits in any form including taking a percentage of the social security tax and placing it in private accounts. People can already create their own pensions with money after taxes in the private sector.

I demand that the congress make all of a person’s earned income taxable for social security FICA tax purposes and remove the 88,000 dollar taxable income limit. This will make social security solvent for many years to come.

I demand the congress increase the payroll tax in order to make social security solvent as well.

I demand congress and the president enact a prescription drug benefit under Medicare Part B which covers 80 percent of medication cost, with no extra premium, no extra deductibles, no means test and no coverage gaps, and no penalties for signing up in a succeeding year.

I demand congress repeal the faulty Medicare law HR 1 / S 1 passed by congress in Nov 2003.

I demand congress enact single payer universal health insurance for every citizen as minimum coverage.

I demand that congress and the president enact universal vote by mail throughout the 50 states of the United States of America with paper ballots easy to fill out and difficult to change or invalidate by Republican Party officials. This will prevent Republicans from vote suppression by skin color and political party which happened electronically and in person in the 2000 and 2004 elections.

I demand that congress and the president enact that civil servants on every state payroll keep track of voter registrations and vote counting of mail in votes in each precinct and not companies such as Choicepoint. We need to take the Republican Party out of the business of keeping track of voter registration and counting votes.

I demand that congress and the president ban the secretary of state in each of the 50 states from engaging in politics especially acting as a campaign official for a presidential campaign.

I demand congress enact legislation protecting private pensions from corporations deliberately declaring bankruptcy or ending pensions outright.

I do this in the spirit of peaceful resistance to a congress that refuses to enact this legislation.

    ————————————————————————————————————————————————

Then call your local franchise or store that sells products of companies mentioned for boycott and tell them unless the Republican Party enacts the above demands, you will no longer do business with them, so get the CEO of the parent company to get the GOP to accede to these demands. No company wants thousands of people boycotting them espcially getting thousands of phone calls from citizens demanding a progressive agenda enacted or they lose our business.

Tell others to send this mail and to call these companies local franchises. In the case of General Electric call your local store that sells General Electric products.

Thank you Harry! You were wonderfully articulate, clear, calm, and oh-so- admirable. Thank you for saying all that you did and I’m sorry that part of your response was a smirk-faced joke. You are the hero we were looking for. Would that the democratic party could be so focused.

  154. #154 by Marlys` on April 9, 2006 - 6:03 pm

Thank you SO MUCH Mr. Taylor, for having the courage of your convictions, and the brass and gumption to stand up to that smirking fool and tell him how you feel! I wish there was some way we could all do the same thing. I didn’t vote for him because I knew he would be a very bad choice. Never in a million years did I think he would be THIS horrible. You spoke for all of us who are sick of this man, this administration, and the Republican Party in general. I applaud you!

  155. #155 by Susan Edwards on April 10, 2006 - 8:22 am

Thank you Harry Taylor!!! I, too, am terrified of this administration, but my voice isn’t as strong as yours. You spoke my mind and heart with your comments to the “W”eed. God bless you and keep doing what you’re doing, and know I’m behind you 100%.

DEAR HARRY: FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS WE THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!! THAT DRY DRUNK HAS HAD IT TOO EASY AND IT’S ABOUT TIME HE HEARD IT LIKE IT IS! HE AND HIS COHORTS HAVE BEEN PLAYING SOLDIER WITH OUR CHILDRENS’ LIVES AND WE ARE FED UP. I SAID FROM THE START THAT HE WAS PROBABLY THE ANTI-CHRIST. Yay Harry!! Yay Harry!! Yay Harry!! Yay Harry!!

By the way, have you ever achieved any sort of political office yourself? Ever been burdened with any significant decisions? I doubt it.

You’re a loser, capitalizing on a cheap stunt. Your 15 minutes of fame are essentially over. U.S. presidential decisions shape the world. You only shaped the momentary direction of a flock of sheep.

  158. #158 by Nephi on April 11, 2006 - 1:12 pm

    Hey Bertha.

Did you give any consideration to the fact that the “flock of sheep” to which you refer is the majority of all Americans?

But don’t worry. When Bush is kicked out of office for being the biggest, most bafoonest criminal president ever, we sheep will still let you voice your opinion.

How does it feel to be in the minority?

  159. #159 by Ted Kennedy's Liver on April 11, 2006 - 1:21 pm

Bertha, Nephi usually results to name calling and mocking when she is confused or her beliefs threatened.

  160. #160 by Nephi on April 11, 2006 - 1:28 pm

That’s right, TKL, pure ad hominem attack when confused. But there is no confusion here when I say that Bush supporters are a dying breed. Even Ma Bush, I am told, would like to wrap a string of pearls around junior’s neck!

  161. #161 by Ted kennedy's liver on April 11, 2006 - 1:42 pm

http://gwbush.meetup.com/ is a good place to start to find bush supporters. The great thing here is where you find a lot of supporters that are new. Here is a second site to look at http://www.gop.com/. I would also check with variuos Secretary of States offices around the country and see the percentage increase of Registered Republicans today compared to before the 2004 Election cycles. But if thats too complicated don’t worry about it, I wouldn’t expect you to actually do research on the matter. The only test will be who is in conrtrol of Congress come Nov. of course it will be Republicans, and you are gonna deny it now just like the DNC did in 2004. But its gonna happen.

  162. #162 by Nephi on April 11, 2006 - 2:02 pm

TKL: Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but supporters of Bush are rapidly dwindling in number. Accept it and get over it, dude! I never said, as you incorrectly suggest, that Bush supporters do not exist, or that an increase of registered republicans is not occurring. Bush supporters are a dying breed, and few will argue with the notion.

Indeed, the fact that the number of registered republicans is increasing – I will take your word for the proposition – may well signal such disgust with Bush that the party refuses to allow a repeat of the Bush disaster, as a repeat of Bush will likely spell death for the gop as we know it today.

Verily, I say, your analysis needs refinement!

  163. #163 by Woman_under_muslim_boot on April 12, 2006 - 12:56 am

I thank Bush for action and lasting effect for freedom in all world.

Unfortunately some stupid ones equate popularity contest with real leadership.

  164. #164 by Graduate Farmdog on April 12, 2006 - 9:17 am

Show me “real leadership,” Woman, and I will show you a popular president. Bill Clinton comes to mind. Notwithstanding his remarkably stupid decision to lie to the country re Monica, he nevertheless enjoyed enourmous public support, at levels far in excess of those “enjoyed” by Bush today. Such high levels of support indicate real leadership, as opposed to lies, lies and more lies, and folks who die because of the lies.

  165. #165 by Harassed Women on April 12, 2006 - 10:20 am

Clinton — ‘enormous public support’ …

Is that why the U.S. House of Representatives shifted its power of balance after 40 years of control by the Democrats?

Is that why Al Gore lost?

  166. #166 by Graduate Farmdog on April 12, 2006 - 2:04 pm

No. But that is why Clinton enjoyed 60% plus approval ratings, even while being impeached!

  167. #167 by Query on April 13, 2006 - 1:15 am

Farmdog, you seem to be trying to make a point.

    WHAT IS IT?
