Prespective From an Israeli Listening to Bombs Falling
The following represents the first of I hope many posts from my cousin who lives outside Haifa, Israel in a nieghborhood not unlike mine, in a modest home, not unlike mine. Since Sunday Hezbollah has launced over 2000 rockets into the area. - Cliff
For once, it seems that the Western World, through the G8 Conference, came to the conclusion that Israel is not always wrong doing. Finally, President Bush acknowledged that Israel is literally fighting for its physical survival and all other so-called Big Powers agreed to it, oil prices notwithstanding!
It is about time that people around the world realize that the West is deeply involved in WW III, waged by the Islam against all other faiths and beliefs. Israel is just the first step in the destruction scheme and if she does not win today the civilized world is doomed tomorrow.
All the treaties, UN resolutions, negotiated settlements made with the Arabs have never been implemented, either fully or even partly: Israel was always expected to stick to her part, while the other side was not even contemplating reading the paper it was written on: 1948 UN resolution creating 2 states, 1967 Six Days war Peace Treaty offer, 1979 Peace treaty with Egypt where, once Sinai was returned to the last inch, Egypt turned a cold shoulder instead of normalizing relations, Oslo and Whye Accords and on and on…
Only one thing the Arabs are willing to do: erase Israel from the map, by any means. Instead of cooperating for improving their lot and creating a prosperous Middle-East where every state would be independent within an Oriental Common Market, sharing resources such as water and oil, these people are killing, killing and killing, following some obscure interpretation of the Koran Holy book.
Do not get it wrong: Israel is just the first step. The whole non-Muslim world is to follow. Good words and appeasement won’t do it. We already went through that process.
The only way to bring this war to an end is by shear force, just like any other war: there is a need of a strong victor and of a loser who won’t be tempted to start again (i.e. WW II). To that end, Israel in her corner and the Western Powers everywhere else have to use the strongest military means to drive the message home, at whatever the costs: the Future depends on it.
Whether with President Bush or his successor, brace yourselves for a stronger involvement in Iraq, a new war against Iran and start to hunt Bin Laden more seriously. If not, neither your children nor mine will have a chance to even breathe on this otherwise wonderful Earth.

Well, Israel used to be the underdog in the 1956, 1967 and 1973 wars. Realistically, while they still face a lot of Arab hatred the capability to defeat Israel just isn’t there at present. Those thousands of rockets carry very small warheads and almost all land off target by an average of 2/3 of a mile. Meanwhile, Lebanon has suffered over $2 billion in damage courtesy of the IDF. Here’s my idea: the USA should offer to rebuild Lebanon and charge it to the annual $2.6 billion in direct aid that we normally give to Israel. The Israelis don’t need our aid, they already have one of the highest per capita incomes in the world.

Have you seen the photo of the little israeli school girls addressing the bombs we shipped them from washington state to our/thier sisters and brothers from around the world who just happen to be on the other side of THAT border. so cute, so pathetic. ‘Dear Collateral Damage, we’re sending these your way, not so much that we want to see you separated from your limbs, loved-ones, etc, only that having expended them in your bedroom, we may get more. It’s our security at stake. That’s the way of the world’. Signed, Collaterally Guilty.

Jaques,
Israel has my total support. I am sick of the antisemitism that is world wide. When bombs and suicide bombers kill innocent Israelis, including children and teens at Bar Mitzvahs, weddings and nightclubs, there are no demonstrations calling for “peace”. There are no demonstrations yelling about Islamic agression.
In fact, I would ask all Americans to remember 9-11 and who was behind the murder of almost 5,000 innocent Americans. (Including Jews, despite the rantings of Jew haters in this country and others.)
Where were the calls for peace, and the naming the Islamists the aggressors.
I am proud of you and I think you for continuing to be strong.
Please continue to post.

Who was behind nine-one-one? I’d really like to know.

To Richard, Alien and the like,
I certainly hope you are cynical about your comments! I wish you’ll never be confronted with these “small war heads”, some of them being loaded with thousands of tiny steel balls very lethal upon impact in a radius of 50 to 100 meters! And who cares about precision when they are launched on cities? Don’t you realize that these people, instead of taking care of the welfare of their families and their countries development, are using their monies, skills and brains toward the one and only goal for now 58 years: wiping out Israel from the map, and, later on, all the Jews and Christians? For years, Israel was carefully waging defensive wars trying to take utmost care not to harm “innocent people”. I have news for you: people who for 6 full years gave shelter and allowed the terrorists to build underground fortified positions, who lend their homes to serve as arms caches and as rockets launching consealed places, with the sole aim to attack Israel , are not ” innocent people”anymore. Israel has to finish the job she started whatever the cost on both sides: her future is at stake!
