Cannon - “Nobody in Utah is on Minimum Wage?”

Yep, you heard it here first. Its hard appreciate how mean and hateful Chris Cannon really is, but the more you listen to him, the more it sinks in.

I really want to be nice and talk about how great Burridge is, but then I am overwhelmed with anger toward this Cannon guy. I don’t just want him out of Congress, I want him to pay for his screwing Utah.

For those of you who missed it, Chris Cannon wrote a letter in support of that crook Safavian.

That’s just the way Chris Cannon talks. He didn’t really mean there is not one single person in Utah who is getting paid $5.15 an hour. He meant that the labor market here is such that many of the lowest-paid workers are doing better than that.

I don’t follow our legislature as well as I should. Has anybody introduced a bill for a state minimum wage? There are 18 states that have passed minimum wages above the federal minimum. Utah should have a minimum wage that is a living wage.

Well, you have plenty of illegals in Utah, that get whatever you give them, plus pay no income taxes, and also get benefits as needy people. Meanwhile citizens with no jobs and skills stay home and collect the dole. The taxpayer gets screwed every way. The only benefit is to the employers that continue to hire ilegals.

Probably the best “new” constituancy dems in Utah have seen in a while, too bad it is a federal crime for them to vote, but then again they seem to have no problem with this. Well, what does really matter with diebold controlling the State?

The situation is so bass-ackwards as to laughable. Virtue?

Back to the well. Vermont is voting 100% with paper.

Illegals in New England now are simply arrested for vagrancy at the local level and held until the feds can pick them up, then they bill the feds for holding and feeding them. Any idiot can see that working wages will be depressed if illegals work with impunity, so any democrat that whines about minimum wage has no credibility as they are the primary supporters of doing nothing with regards to illegal immigrant labor.

The egg is on the faces of both parties.

Actually I heard it first on Rob’s site, but keep up the good work!

    Donkey Darrell

  4. Tom Grover Says:

Chris Cannon is the embodiment of everything wrong with the Republican Party right now. Corruption, blind party loyalty, TRUTHINESS, more TRUTHINESS and TRUTHINESS.

He is a total embarassment to Utah and will unfortunately win in a landslide. I wish people voted on person and not on party! I wish money wasn’t such a HUGE variable! If that was the world we lived in Christian Burridge would clean Cannon’s clock!

When Christian Burridge loses, the old Churchill quote will be proven true, “Democracy is the worst form of government except for all the rest”

If by doing something about illegal immigrant labor you mean getting tough on corporations which take advantage of these desperate people, as wel as encouraging initiatives to help build the economy in the communities from whence those people come, then I would concur.

If you mean putting up walls and getting tough on the desperate people trying to do whatever it takes to survive and provide for their families, then I vigorously disagree. I would remind those with any such feeling that those who founded this nation were themselves immigrants–and immigrants who immigrated without any concern or respect for the indigenous populations, no less. Our nation has little moral justification for throwing stones at modern illegal immigrants.

Naturally prosecute the employers, Hey Derek do you lock your car when you leave it, how about your house? People with no car, need yours, why not let them have it, you sir can just as well ride the bus or car pool! These immigrants need transportation

Walls and fences are deterrents, as for digging up the past, if you are so damn concerned give your land, if you own any, back to some worthy Ute. The past is just that and we are now a country that is supposed to live by the rule of law. Isn’t that what most of the complaining is about onsite here? The usurpation of what is right and legal by criminals ruling our Country? illegals though lower on the totem pole, are just that. If it were up to me though I would simply seize the assets of businesses USING illegals and offer it up to public auction. This way the people would regulate themselves, and the incentive to report violations would be met by unscrupulous people every bit as scummy as those hiring illegals. Match made in heaven. then we can keep an eye on the whole rat pack.

Modern illegal immigrants are being brought here by criminals, employed by criminals, acting criminally in obtaining false documents, the whole affair is destructive to the rule of law and is simply the modern day equivalent of slavery.

While I feel badly that mexico is racist, and treats its Indians and Mestizos like animals, to serve and enrich the white castillian elite(you have seen ‘em, skiing up at Deer Valley) it does not make me wish to encourage criminal employers and more illegals coming here. Anything that rolls the rug up from both ends is ok with me.

The party is OVER! Time to go home.

  7. Derek Staffanson Says:

Yes, the past is the past, and we should learn from it.

The point is that this is a land of immigrants. We should not deny that, but embrace it. I think it is selfish to want to reserve the resources and opportunities of this land for ourselves. I prefer to believe in opening up for all who wish to share those same blessings. If we want the Statue of Liberty to stand as a symbol of our nation, lets respect the words at her feet:

“Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”

  8. OneNephi Says:

I love it when the fat bastard Repugs point their fingers at immigrants and charge them with the crime of trying to find a better life.

Does anyone know if Cannon is deer hunting this year, and where?

  9. Derek Staffanson Says:

Agreed, OneNephi. I also find it rather ironic that conservatives feel that it is important to keep the borders open to capital and corporations, so that they can run willy-nilly all over the globe in the pursuit of their economic self-interest; and yet they are up in arms and want to lock up the borders to labor when they do the same.

  10. Derek Staffanson Says:

That should read “…so that corporations can run willy-nilly…” and “…lwant to lock up the borders to labor when labor does the same.”

  11. cassandra Says:

This not a land of immigrants. Over 90% of the people in this country currently were born here.

Who is locking up anything? There is a method to being here, legally provided by the law, I would know, having gone through it.

It is not capital and corporations that don’t want illegal immigration it is the working people of this country who are paying for this debacle.

Derek do you lock your car when you leave it? WHY? Someone wants a better moment of not having to walk, you owe it to them to give it them. The idea that someone would give a pass to someone accessing the largesse of this country bespeaks of what the person really thinks the true value is. Nothing. The idea behind immigration law is to see if the candidate has the elements that would amke them worthwhile having in the country. Not only that, a major process of immigration is screening for disease, so citizens, like yourself my not be subject to diseases brought in by people without adequate care. To tolerate illegal immigration is to short circuit this safe guard.

Now let’s see how the liberal bastion of Canada runs its immigration show.

*If you cannot provide proof of all the requisite immunizations you will in no way be allowed in. Illegals are currently being summarily deported when discovered by officials. Most of the time citizens turn them in.

    How to get into Canada.
    1) Marriage or family. These persons are your sponsor and you or they must provide 50k dollars in a Canadian account to provide for your needs, for the up to 2 years it takes to become a “landed immigrant”. All services like health care must be borne by the person during this time by fee for service. No welfare, unemployment, or any other program are you elegible for.
2)Refugee status. In this case you must prove that if you return to your country of origin, you risk being killed. Our own soldiers that ditched up there, are in the process of being sent packing.
3)You can buy immigrant status by putting 200k Canadian in their banks. More if you are from Europe. Yep, Canada is for sale, all other self reliance protocols are in effect.
4)You get a job based on a skill Canada does not have, or is need of, your sponsor is the company willing to hire you. You must advertise the job for 2 months in 3 national newspapers. If no Canadian can be found for the job, you can have it. You pay for the ads.

The US has about the most liberal immigration laws on Earth, there is no excuse for not undertaking this legally, it is pure laziness or simple exploitation by illegals of what our country can provide. Certainly the mark of a crappy citizen to be. This is why we wish to review these people, so they can understand ostensibly what is expected of them.

Eugene Debs would puke if he could see how progressives shill for the destruction of the working mans wages.
