Burridge Cannon KSL Debate

Christian Burridge gave Chris Cannon an ass whoopin’ on KSL, Tuesday I think.
Part I - Part II - Part II

This is the one where Cannon says no one in Utah is on minimum wage and if they are they need to go back to school and get a better job. You can watch just that section.

I just wanted to scream when I heard that. Chris Cannon is the most uninformed, out of touch, pompous rich asshole jerk I think I have ever seen.

Christian Burridge is Nephi resurrected!

Burridge handed Cannon his ass on KUED last night too. I’ll post it as soon as it comes up.

The Tribune does not always match my expectations when it comes to endorsements, but in this case where they endorsed the right man for the right job, Christian Burridge, they are right on!

Someone please tell me which hole Cannon has been living in that he thinks no one in Utah makes minimum wage. Me thinks Mr. Cannon misses the point. The issue is how many Utahns are making less than what an increased minimum wage would be which is approx 7.25/hr.

My son just quit his job in disgust at a fast food place because he was supposed to receive the new minimum wage in Michigan - $6.95 an hour with an increase for individuals who had not just started. This son attended our wonderful Utah schools, dropped out and has worked at McDonald’s making minimum wage for over a year. During that time he has had to work to support a family.

Christian Burridge gets it on a very basic level - he needs our votes.

If Chris Cannon is so sure that no one works for the minimum wage, then all employers must already be paying more than the minimum wage. If all employers already pay more than the minimum wage, then no employer would be negatively affected by an increase, the issue would only be ‘how much’ of an increase.

So why would Congressman “Loose” Cannon be opposed to something that is already de facto in place and would not negatively affect anyone?
