But Christian must assure me that, as his first name implies, he can fix it with God so that my endorsement of Mr. Cannon does not violate the Christian injunction against oaths, giving unto Caesar the things that Caesar already owns, supporting an illegal immoral criminal war of aggression, favoring torturing people out of their minds, unbalancing the budget 1000 times over (why not invest some of that in keeping Geneva Steel out of Japan and opening it as a spa for all of us, and for Dick Cheney, a place to take Repubicans and shoot them in the ass, mistaking them for Ducks or Turkeys when we all know they are Mastedons, and for other Republicans a place to meet other people on the take who want to buy votes that have aleady been oversold 1,000,000 times over?)!!!!!
And most important: Cannon — and Christian—must be willing to drop a Bill of Impeachment in the House Hopper on the first day of the session.
Articles of Impeachment:

3. War Crimes…….see above.
4. Torture. See, four treaties we signed at Geneva, the Protocols, and as I recall, with very tired brain, the fourth deals precisely with guerrilla war, unnatural war, or as the 18th and 19th century’s quaint language of international law called it, “imperfect war.†See, Firmage, et al, The International Legal Order: International Law casebook, Foundation Press; and Firmage, et al, To Chain the Dog of War, decades ago.

The last impeachment in English history, ironically, was occuring in London, in Parliament. They were impeaching their rotten corrupt leader of India (sound familiar), under colonial domination (read Haliburton), just as our great forebears met at Philadelphia in 1787. Go, Christian, GO! Nate, you’re absolutely right. Big time. Kissinger, though thinking these guys were Bush League while working for Nixon (see p. one of my MX: My Story. Utah Law Review, on my website), is the Founding Father of dark stealth and how to get rich, fast, off the federal larder, even though working as a poor teacher for years. Go figure.
And that lets me repeat what I’ve said before, but forgot, in sleep-deprivation, to say here: THESE PEOPLE ARE INDICTABLE, NOW, ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD: in one of our state or federal courts. In any state (meaning nation, country….e.g., the Netherlands, Spain, France) (now there’s a thought). A good place to try, it comes to this old mind, might be a Native American tribal court, anywhere in the Americas. Non-lawyer people, just like traditional people everywhere, who have too much sense to turn matters that involve justice and mercy over to attorneys. I’m very very happy some Mormons at BYU yesterday or the day before, in their wondrously large building housing all students and faculty at one place at one time, heard some very tender words in favor of peace. I’m touched. Good man. Good message.
My great sorrow is that the same man in the same place, and in Conference assembled, didn’t say that war is hell, and this one in particular, when it mattered, that is, before this very foreseeable war was aggressively begun. By us. 9/11 had absolutely nothing to do with our invading Iraq. Rather than saying, as the Salt Lake Tribune reported, near the beginning, that Iraq was a Just War. Now that is sad. So many years. So many lives.

Most people think the Nuremberg Trials were all about the Nazi concentration camps. As Ed Firmage points out, the principal charge at Nuremberg was waging aggressive war. Now our government is guilty of the same thing. Under international law, going to war is justified only (1) in response to an attack or (2) pursuant to a UN Security Council resolution.
I realize that Bush supporters like to claim that the various UN resolutions against Iraq provided sufficient legal cover, however UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan flatly declared the invasion of Iraq illegal and a violation of the UN charter.
Not many are sorry to see Saddam Hussein convicted as a war criminal, but it’s sobering to think how many people in the world feel the same way about America’s leaders.
