Just saw Hillary’s speech: Nice litany of what a democratic congress will be: Accountable, competent, transparent, committed to our Constitutional law.
I’m not a huge fan of Hillary’s - she’s scary smart, and could serve as a target for Republican anger, take the heat for many Dems, but for some reason she doesn’t do that. She’s not a great speaker like Bill - she speaks like a perfect mainline Protestant - smart, focused, contained passion. Not a bad speaker, by any means, but she doesn’t have Bill’s magic.
Looks like some good pickups for the Dems tonight - interestingly, commentators keep saying that the Republicans are losing seats in the north but don’t manage to draw the obvious conclusion - the Republicans have effectively become the party of the conservative South. Dems are looking good in a number of western states (our own Utah of course excepted). The D’s are poised to become the national party, the Republicans the Southern Conservative party.
