Aren’t you Americans tired of being embarassed by the idiot in the White House?
According to the AP: “HANOI, Vietnam - President Bush said Friday the United States’ unsuccessful war in Vietnam three decades ago offered lessons for the American-led struggle in Iraq. “We’ll succeed unless we quit,” Bush said shortly after arriving in this one-time war capital.”
Follows is a response from a DailyKos writer minus the language for the more fragile of our gentle readers.
1. Vietnam was not ours to lose - it was a sovereign country.
2. We did not lose the war because we left too soon - we stayed there for at least fifteen years.
3. We did not lose because of lack of effort - we dropped a greater tonnage of bombs on Vietnam than all parties dropped in WWII and at times we had over a million troops in that theater.
4. We did not lose because we did not kill enough people - we killed at least a million Vietnamese in our sojourn there and we are still killing them.
5. We lost because it was un-winnable - these morons, including Kissinger, still cannot get over the fact that war is generally a poor idea and sometimes one cannot win. Ask the Chinese - they have not beaten the Vietnamese in 2000 years. To top it off for this scum sucking, war-dodging coward to offer any opinion on this subject in Vietnam, in front of the people that he and his cohorts tortured for those many years is unforgivable.

According to Bob Woodward’s latest book, Kissinger himself is currently advising the White House and recently gave a Bush aide a copy of a secret memo he wrote in 1969 arguing against troop withdrawals from Vietnam. Kissinger’s September 10, 1969, advice to President Nixon famously characterized withdrawals from Vietnam as “salted peanuts” to which the American people would become addicted.
Following the link above, you can find a PDF facsimile of this short memo from Kissinger. But I don’t think it’s a “stay the course” argument. In fact, Kissinger is saying that the North Vietnamese can successfully wait out any possible American strategy, including “Vietnamization.”

The event you speak of is another example of kissinger committing treason. Before Dick became president, kissinger met with the South Vietnamese govt’ in order to convince them not to make a peace with North Vietnam. In doing so he undercut in secret, a sitting president, and meddled as a citizen in foreign policy issues he had no right being involved in. TREASON.
He promised the S. Vietnamese to pursue the war with vigor if the South would simply not make peace with the North(the election was coming), an effort LBJ had underway. LBJ lost the election, and some 15,000 additional American war dead was the result of the failed effort, that was failed already under Johnson, and why LBJ was open to making peace. Instead, the thick odious one advised dick into bombing the daylights out of Vietnam, and the war went on for years. He is a Traitor, dual passport and all, from where else of course.
Pelosi has bedfellows in aipac, rahm emmanuel is the son of an irgun terrorist, who has served in the idf, also a dual passport jew.,perle and wolfowitz, libby, the architects of this nightmare are also, you guessed it, dual passport jews(zionists). perle was caught giving classifed documents to israel in the 70’s. We are infiltrated with traitors.
The fix is in, we are in no way leaving iraq, once we are still there for years, Americans , you will at least know why. The war is for israel, and apparently the democratic party like bush, is content to be their bitch.
It can’t last forever, either we follow Washingtons Farewell Address as advice, and forgoe this “entangling alliance” or find ourselves in a position unwinnable, directed by a bunch of cretins that are not American, and that have committed traitorous acts, while claiming our citizenship. Hanging is too good for these people.
END DUAL CITIZENSHIP NOW! It is too tempting and easy for those who would infiltrate us and use our largesse for foreign ends to pretend to be Americans. The Oath de-facto orders anyone becoming a citizen to swear off fealty to Foreign Governements, Kings, princes and potentates(simply powerful foreigners). You cannot have dual loyalties and claim our citizenship, it is simply expressed so in the Oath.

Ever wonder what 4 carriers are doing hovering off the coast of Iran? They are sitting ducks for the Silkworm missiles iran possessess.
Iran is too smart to take the bait I figure. Yet the implication is clear, the admin with dem support is trying to create a pretense for attacking Iran, and as in many cases when the US has done this, American boys are in harms way.
Does anyone doubt that bush won’t waste our troops? That dems won’t support it? Consider the dems track record in carrying the Kings trolley throughout this entire debacle. We will attack iran, the reason is that israel has already told us that if we do not do something in the next 6 months, they will undertake it, and drag us in anyway. This has devastating consequences for our troops in Iraq, as you can be sure the “war” will bust wide open.
Don’t think the dems aren’t on track, you can see the dumping of Murtha in this, he would insist we remove our troops, can’t have that. I mean israel can’t have that.
Heyer is as pro-israel as it gets, we will do in concert exactly what is asked of us. I hope you non zionist dems aren’t disappointed.
The most terrifying prospect is that if a pretext is found, it may just come to nuking iran for effect, as we have no more troops, and nobody would politically survive the institution of a draft in the US. Hell of future they have carved out for us.
Those that won’t honor their Oath, must be held to account. We the People must hold them to account.

We need to get Rumsfeld back on the job immediately. Why didn’t the Bush administration tell us that Rummy liberated over 50,000,000 people in Iraq and Afghanistan? I had no idea.
It was clearly wrong for Bush to can Rummy. Bring Rummy back, now!!!
