BUSTED! - MilBlog Profits From Death
CJ (everyone is anonymous there) over at SoldiersPerspective.us just deleted my post after I raised the issue of his profiting from his site.
Yesterday, he accused me of celebrating US Troops killed as per the counter of the top-right of this blog. The top-right of HIS blog is a PayPal donation button, with the tag line, “A Dollar Here, A Dollar There; Either Way, It Shows You Care!”, followed by a soldiers grave marker.
So I clicked on his PayPal button expecting to see something like; “all proceeds (or even 5%) go to families of service people killed in the line of duty.” It wasn’t there. Nothing.
Frankly, I’m seeing a lot of this kind of behavior on MilBlogs. How easy would it be to suck these poor people in, gratuitously pander to the pain and suffering of the families, and make some “bank?”
Dispicable, war-profiteering, hypocrites.

Unbeeelievable. I just went there, and then to a few others. They are all advertising and collecting donations for themselves.
I think we should start of movement and expose these punk asshats for what they are.

cj b—- wimpski over at military beggars.com banned me from his site. maybe some of you find folks would be kind enough to post and repost and repost the following sentiments on his site from dave mohammed.
we need charity boxing matches between:
12 yo iraki girl vs cj the pussy whimp at mil beggars
old men vets disabled (not service connected) vs. beggars who can only take muslims who are tied to floor.
the irak and afghan torturing vets should be registered like child molesters are registered.
pls cut and paste into the military beggar site listed above

Lynette, you can start with my blog. Come on, you know you want to expose me. Let’s see what I’m really hiding behind that Paypal link. Great piece of fiction you have here, “Cliff”.
November 28th, 2006 at 9:21 pm
Wow, what a bunch of hostile folks there who obviously do not like dissent, however credible it is. Cliff, I think you’re fully within your right to question the PayPal button. Anyone can SAY what they do with their money - sending all the money to “care packages” or to the recuperating in Walter Reed Hospital - but how would we really know? Besides, they can continue to get more money to help more people if they continue with their stupid policy in this war. If they really wanted to help and honor our soldiers, they would do all they could to bring them home as soon as possible, ALIVE!
November 28th, 2006 at 9:39 pm
Mr. Troll, I can answer your question by simply telling you to actually look beyond the front page. There are pictures clearly showing where the money is going and of care packages being sent out. But, I don’t really need you to believe it. I know it’s happening and so do the troops at the receiving end of all this generosity. Is it that hard to believe there are actually good people in the world? Probably not if this is the site you call you home.
November 29th, 2006 at 5:08 am
I know for a fact that CJ is doing just what he says he’s doing for the troops. My question is, what are YOU doing to support the troops? CJ doesn’t have one thing to hide and he’s totally honest with everyone about what any funds he receives through PayPal are going to. You know what they say about making assumptions……. Take some time to READ his blog for a change, ALL of his blog, before making accusations based on nothing, and then maybe and it’s a big maybe, you’ll realize how far off base you are.
November 29th, 2006 at 7:18 am
C.J. and Terry, I believe the point isn’t that you have or don’t have generosity behind your pay-pal button, it is that, were the lying scumsuckers in the whitehouse not the kind of ‘people’ they are, we (and this includes yourselves) wouldn’t be batting this gruesome question around at all. Forgive our scepticism. Our concerns extend beyond ‘the troops’ and on balance the care packages are but a small part of the expenditures made that only insure care packages are even thought of. Please package up whatever you feel is needed to ameliorate the devastating effects of all the armourments that we’ve plopped all over the globe in our quest for a neo-con dream.

My donations go to . They’ve been doing care packages since August 2003 and their website is non-political.

Oops. Here’s the link: AnySoldier.com. We need an easier way to add links!

Richard, thank you. I was the recipient of anysoldier.com mail while I was in Iraq, so I appreciate your support.

No one needs to go to milblogs to see that the troops don’t get what they need.
I ask if our nation cannot provide officially what our troops need for health, mental, physical, what damn good is it? Why serve it?
The “bake sale” mentality of supporting our troops is truly pathetic. *uck those of you that will band aid horror in this way.
Check this out, this is what counts, or rather bake me donut, send me a card but please, please, don’t end this war. What, in CHRISTS’ NAME is wrong with you people?

How about this blog, from a crippled military veteran HERO? If you make ANY money off your milblog beyond running it, you are just scum. Having seen what our troops are capable of on the news the world over(good and bad), it would be no surprise that there would be people in our military turning a buck on the misery of others.

Ron Kovics blogpage. Be ashamed those of you profiting, but then if you had any shame, you would never have done it in the first place. Thanks for showing me what I am truly up against. F U then.

This makes me sick. Some are trying to say that this is not just about and attack on CJ’s integrity. There is no other NCO that I would want to go to war for. He has always gone above and beyond to take care of his troop and his belief that soldiers do not get the recognition that they deserve. If you would also go to his theyhavename.com you could find where any money that goes to him go, also the fact that he is in the process of making They Have Names a NON-profit organization. Also when it comes to any money going to him, to buy gifts to send to troops I would never hesitate in giving the money to him. (it helps me feel like I helped even when all I did was sit on my behind and let him prepare and send gifts overseas or to Walter Reed) I realize that some of you do not know CJ personally, but I do and I did serve with him. Cliff you should be ashamed or yourself.

I am ashamed JessDawn. I am ashamed of my country’s leadership. I am ashamed of this war, and I am ashamed of so many of my country men who have supported this president and this illegal war.
But most of all, I am ashamed of my fellow countrymen who continue to support this war with more bravado then ever.
As for CJ, I do not believe I called him names. Such cannot be said for your special NCO. If he represents the kind of officers serving in our military, I am still more ashamed.
BTW: You have yet to mention any empathy for the innocent Iraq women and children that have died because of our actions. I don’t think it’s shame you want from me, I think it is loyalty and respect.

This blog remind me of back home fighting. With no effort Mr. Gay Rights and Mr. Tough guy this cj were brought to nearly fighting for physical hurting.
Lebanon is much the same. Iraq too. Outsider are to turn the sides of many to hate each other.
American killed so many people in cruel that soldier must feel he right in all things or fight to not lose mind. It is dirty dirty thing.
November 29th, 2006 at 8:47 pm
And the gay is even worse for all mankind.
November 30th, 2006 at 9:00 am
Cliff-
I never said you called him names, but that you are attacking his integrity. I do not need your loyalty and respect, but CJ deserves it. I do not base my life off of how you or others feel about me or my beliefs. Well when it comes to being ashamed of your countrymen that support the war, I can not change that, and I know that you can not change my opinion on that.
When asked why he supported the Americans so much in the war on Iraq “A simple way to take measure of a country is to look at how many people want in and how many want out.”
If you are so ashamed you can leave. Unlike some countries we don’t care if you want to move some where else.
November 30th, 2006 at 12:10 pm
I shall not leave JessDawn, if the principles you espouse do not measure up to the laws of the land, and you continue in them, you have become an enemy of the people, and your shame cannot come soon enough. You are supporting an Constitutionally unlawful activity, leading to death, in a time of war. This is treason. We ‘aint leaving, the criminal mentality borne by those that have made this war, *WILL!
According to what I have read, you will need to get an exit visa from homeland security in order to leave this country, sometime in 2007, that is, if we don’t stop it. So Jess ,we are getting to be alot like countries I’m sure you do not want to emulate.
*Bring on the Nurnberg tribunal type trials. For all accused of war crimes that are citizens of our country,… the dock, the conviction, and the BLESSED ROPE!
