Conservative Elitists Scornful of America

Well, the fine folks at Family Security Matters have discerned at long last the real problem in America:

Fact is, we are the largest group of ungrateful, spoiled brats the world has ever seen. No wonder the world loves the U.S. yet has a great disdain for its citizens. They see us for what we are. The most blessed people in the world who do nothing but complain about what we don’t have and what we hate about the country instead of thanking the good Lord we live here.

What motivated this insightful analysis of the American public?

A recent Newsweek poll alleges that 67 percent of Americans are unhappy with the direction the country is headed and 69 percent of the country is unhappy with the performance of the president. In essence 2/3s of the citizenry just ain’t happy and want a change.
Since the nice conservatives at Family Security Matters can’t possibly imagine that the American people have taken a good hard look at the fucked up mess known as the Bush Administration and its policies and decided “Thank you, no, we want actual competent adults in charge,” the only possibly answer that FSM can come up with is . . . yes, we’re spoiled brats.

The folks at FSM conclude that the problem isn’t that the conservative policies pursued by the Bushies are out of step with America, or that the American people would rather not be fighting the wrong war, against the wrong enemy at the wrong time while major American cities and thousands of our fellow citizens are abandoned to a hurricane, no the very insightful folks at FSM conclude the problem is (wait for it) . . . .

So why then the flat out discontentment in the minds of 69 percent of Americans? Say what you want but I blame it on the media. If it bleeds it leads and they specialize in bad news . . .
Because there’s just so much good news coming out of Iraq.  You know, civil wars are just hotbeds of great happy news.  Iraq is a volcano spewing puppies and sunshine and daisies and everyone is so happy they’ve joy shooting pouring of their ears.  At least they would if they weren’t so busy ducking for cover, blowing each other and American soldiers up and generally waging, you know, a civil war.
Family Security Matters has apparently decided the Tinkerbell school of public policy answers all our problems.  If only we’ll clap harder and believe harder everything will be all right.  And when that doesn’t work, elitists that they are, they rush in to defend the powerful and privileged by asserting the rest of us just aren’t grateful enough.

    I have to agree to some degree with this statement. But what can we expect when we have a spoiled brat running this country. Putting the blame everywhere else. It is also to be expected when we put the Paris Hilton’s of the U.S. on a pedestal and have to report on all their spoiled behavior. We are a spoiled nation and it cannot be blamed on just the administration. However, I don’t think the ‘conservative’ values offer much help either.
