OK, I’m a sucker for a good song title– they just want the money, they already have enough lawyers and guns. The most powerful lobbying group in Washington, the National Rifle Association (NRA), is sounding the alarm. They are running out of money and seek big donors, before it’s too late. The case for sending lots of money right away is laid out in gruesome detail in a new pamphlet prepared for distribution as the control of Congress returns to the Democrats for the first time since 1994. Freedom in Peril: Guarding the 2nd Amendment in the 21st Century (PDF) “dials the NRA’s paranoia level up to 11,” according to Josh Sugarman on HuffPo.
Reportedly, the NRA says the pamphlet is only a draft. The existence of this hilarious document was revealed recently by the blog Wonkette. It’s full of scary pictures like the one above, plus a rogues gallery consisting of evildoers such as George Soros, Hillary Clinton, Rosie O’Donnell, Katie Couric, Michael Bloomberg, and Michael Moore. America under Democratic Party rule is depicted as a post-apocalyptic landscape overrun with NRA desperadoes, violent gangs and non-white immigrants. The terrorists are the worst, but don’t think that means we should disarm them, oh no.
It’s inevitable that terrorists will infest America for generations to come. It’s also inevitable that an anti-gun president will occupy the White House, and anti-gun forces will control the U.S. House and Senate…
When these two certainties intersect, America’s anti-gun agenda will emerge in full force masquerading as an anti-terrorist agenda. Unless we are well-financed to face that moment, the final disarmament of law-abiding Americans will occur beneath the shroud of anti-terrorism legislation.
Follow the links. This is the funnier than anything on the “Colbert Report.” For the record, I am a strict constructionist and a strong supporter of the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. That means I believe the federal government should allow states to have armed militias, provided they are “well regulated” of course.

Well since there is a quarter billion firearms in this country we have little to worry about. As a nation that promotes warfare, there will always be guns for those that want them.
The well regulated militia has nothing to do with firearms possession, that right was an absolute given in colonial America, as it still is today. It will likely remain so, and certainly as a de-facto matter. We can’t disarm Iraqis, hezbollah, israel, iran, and I don’t think that anyone will have any more luck with most elements of the US public. I’m sure if you asked Iraqis what it would be like to disarm Americans…, well you can guess the rest.

The Democrats in Congress don’t even have federal gun control legislation anywhere on their “to do” list. But the NRA is worried anyway. Remember explosive taggants, proposed by President Clinton in 1995? The NRA courageously stood up on behalf of terrorists everywhere to defeat that idea.

It’s a good thing too, as the democrats will have enough problems convincing those that voted for them that they are capable of any change involving the will of the people. I expect them to have real problems, ending the war, and doing what people want with regard to illegal immigration, and federal debt,. trade deficit.
Jan. 1 in Colorado, new state law requires real ID for any state social programs(except emergency health care) and $25,000 fine for each illegal discovered working for your business. No excuses, employers are 100% responsible now in CO. This is what people want, dems will never provide it, Nationally, so I expect their tenure to be short, unless a pragmatist takes over the party.
Your goose is cooked with pelosi there, not much pragmatism. If it weren’t for bush she would not be where she is today, she should thank him, as she could not have done it on her own.
