Please Allow Me to Introduce Myself, I’m a Man of Health and Waste

Apologies to Mick and Keith, but “Sympathy for the Devil” is an appropriate backdrop for the mission Cliff Lyon has tapped me for: taking on environmental issues with a focus on Utah governments and certain powerful and influential elements, among them: gold, copper, carbon and Mormonium, which I believe is #263 on the periodic table. My name is Ken Schreiner. I moved to SLC in July, 2006. I run my own video production company, make promotional videos for eco-friendly companies, documentaries and web videos about Nature, alternative energy and other subjects corporate media, big polluters and governments find unsavory because they usually involve contact with people without money. But I’m better known as a 30-year-veteran TV news reporter, anchor and executive, and non-self-reputed international media visionary who left three years ago to engage in media reform and environmental activism. I promise I won’t waste your time talking about myself but stick to the issues, like the new program proposed as part of the budget cuts from the Department of Environmental Quality: “Gas Masks from God.”

Ken, welcome to the fray. I peeked at your blog, you seem obsessed with air quality for some reason… I liked your take on the SOTU, nobody has taken on that topic yet over here.

    Go Ken!

Thanks, everyone. I’m obsessed with the air because 1) it’s terrible 2) the news media and people in charge don’t seem to give a shit 3) as I’ve written on my blog, asthma and other respiratory illnesses are getting worse and 4) it makes good/bad TV live video. That’s why I have my webcam trained on it all day for the world to see. I’m getting more and more hits every day as the blight continues. Maybe the Dept. of Tourism will get the message. I hope to get more insight on the legislature through interacting with you all. Special thanks to Jenni for your support!

    Ken,

I haven’t studied it nearly as much, but (my) fellow BYU-ite Arden Pope has done a ton of research on this issue. He definitely agrees with you (and so do I, but we might diverge in our opinions of global warming.)

Welcome Ken, sorry about the Utah brown cloud, may have to get used to it, or spend most time in the canyons.

This one came and visited Western Colorado a few years back, you need satellite cam to capture its awesomeness. Brought you to by…consumption.

Thanks for the links. If you want to watch our brown cloud, visit my SaltCam. I’ve been getting more and more hits on it from all over the world. That’s an impressive pollution problem!
