    Thanks for the Link. :D

Thanks for sharing that. I disagree with the correspondent’s opinion that this is one of the worst covered wars ever. It started that way but now the coverage is much better because the web of administration lies motivated more independent organizations and individuals- and the American people- to seek the truth. There are more cameras, more independents from around the world capturing and exposing the reality of Iraq now. Not only that: those voices are being heard in the U.S. for the first time in history i.e. Al-jazeera, BBC, etc. Sure reporters are getting killed. It’s a war. It was the Internet and foreign media, not American corporate media, that blew away the Bush Regime’s smoke screen. Now, that the facts are out there, judging from the poll results, I’d say truth is winning now.

    Excellent video. Thanks Cliff.

Ken, I too was put off by the corresponden’ts statement that this is one of the worst covered wars ever….I think what we are seeing and hearing now is more of what is really going on. After seeing this it becomes horribly apparent why the Iraq people hate America.

One statement that I took away from it all is this:

“Journalism…by its failure to show the real horror of war, has become a lethal weapon supporting governments that want to go to war.”

Also, I think DemocracyNow stated something similar to another point, that the war is sanitized in Europe, but not to nearly the effect that it is in the United States.

If anybody knows about the horrors of war, it’s Europe. My speculation is it has something to do with not wanting to arouse anti-Muslim violence like has already taken place in France and Germany and, of course, Serbia and the other Balkan nations (we haven’t seen any more Danish cartoons that I know of). As a media reform “activist,” entailing my work with Journalism That Matters,

I know there’s concern among working American journalists that they are deliberately not telling the whole story about the war either there or here. But don’t expect their war coverage to change. It hasn’t in nearly 300 years. That’s what drives me nuts about these assholes. They don’t fix what’s broken, then they whine about not being trusted. Jeeeeeesh…

Sent it on the poster boards on the Globe and Mail of Canada, there is a firestorm brewing over Afghanistan up there, and this is the vision of their soon to come future.

Maybe this spring, the Mujahdeen being spring planters, when their lands finally thaw.
