Just a reminder, the official 9/11 report does not mention WTC7 anywhere, and it was not hit by a plane. And according to NYC fire fighters radio transmissions, the minor fire was isolated and well under control when the order to evacuate was given.
I raise this only because I happen to notice that yesterday, DailyKos deleted every comment that did not humiliate the author of this diary.

The leading figures who question the “official” story behind 9/11, one of whom is, (was), a respected professor at BYU university, are not kooks! All they are saying is that the accepted story of 9/11 is more of a conspiracy theory then anything THEY have said, and there needs to be a REAL investigation. Bush did everything he could to prevent a good investigation, but had to relent because the 9/11 widows would not, [relent]. In the end, a FRACTION of the money spent to investigate Bill Clinton was provided to get to the bottom of why the worst attack ever to happen on American soil was not stopped. All of the people on the commission had conflicts of interest except Max Cleland and Bob Graham who quit, saying they couldn’t continue under the circumstances.
Daily KOS has also treated the only other issue which could immediately bring down the administration, (election fraud), with much less then a watchful eye as has every other single media outlet in the United States.
Sorry folks, something is amiss here and it is scary as hell, but it must be addressed! Steven Jones is right when he says a building that was burned in a fire, (and a small fire at that), does not collapse in a free fall.

There’s a handy FAQ of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) report on the World Trade Center. Bottom line: NIST found no evidence of a blast or controlled demolition event.

I’m just shocked. How much evidence do you need. There is not one reputable scientist as signatory to the NIST study and a number of resignations before and since.

Of course, the air at Ground Zero was not safe to breathe without a mask and the EPA said so. Unfortunately, many people (including media and politicans who knew better) seized on the report that general air quality in lower Manhattan was OK and proceeded to the assumption that meant the Ground Zero air was OK.
As far as controlled demolitions, the “evidence” you link to consists almost entirely of the argument that if a building collapse looks like a demolition, it is one. The rest is pure speculation. I hadn’t seen Dr. Jerry Russell’s article before, and I respect his boldness in explicitly stating the theory that the Israeli and US governments secretly staged 9/11 in its entirety. Others just hint at dark forces, but he comes out and says the Israelis did it. I guess this makes Osama bin Laden an Israeli agent?

Cliff, I just went to the DailyKos diary you linked to and its author claims that American Airlines Flight 77, a Boeing 757, did not crash into the Pentagon. I’m at a loss to understand how a sane, intelligent person could make such a claim. Numerous eyewitnesses saw the crash.

There are also numerous witnesses that heard the demolition explosions in the towers and they have gone on video over and over and over.
Find me ONE video of an innocent bystander describing a plane flying into the pentagon.
Better yet. Explain to me why the gov’t won’t produce ONE frame of the ELEVEN videos they confiscated of the onject flying into the pentagon showing a plane?
Don’t you think they would if they could? What possible reason could they have for not releasing any of that footage?

As for videos of the American Airlines 757 flying into the Pentagon, I don’t know if there are 11 of them. But you can see one here, released after a Freedom of Information Act request by legal watchdog Judicial Watch.

Do you think they would have let Clinton and Al Gore testify together without being under oath if 911 had happened on their watch.
I was convinced of the “conspiracy theories” after I saw David Ray Griffin on C-span. He also wrote more then one very credible books on the subject of 911. Lee Hamilton was asked about Griffin and said he was unaware of him. How is that possible?
Robert Bowman, Webster Tarkley, Steven Jones, David Ray Griffin, and others are completely credible and the naysayers have GIANT HOLES in their arguments. I’m sticking with the people who have absolutely nothing to gain from questioning the most secretive and corrupt administration in American history, except to become “conspiracy theorists from Mars”, and lose their jobs.
Put people from both sides in a debate. It will never happen, because the “official story” people won’t let it.

Between the Administration and the media, there is a very effective effort to SELL US THIS SHIT. The official story as ‘whirlitsered’ from day one, was all about PROGRAMMING the public. It had nothing to do with reflecting who we really are or what we really know to be factual and true.
Having said that, The terrorists, whoever they were, with whatever connections they had, were awfully damn lucky that what might have been only a symbolic strike at the center resulted in such a cataclysm.

Read this book, “Dollars for Terror” written by Swiss Frenchman Jacques Lefebvre. He names all the conduits for training terrorists, where the money comes from, in an pretty incredible academic work that is entirely sourced and footnoted. The implications are stunning.
What is most fascinating is that he wrote in ‘92.

Here is a great video of Steven Jones on the Tucker Carlson show as cool as a cucumber while Tucker, (as usual), is talking as fast as a car salesman, (no offense to car salesmen.) The Video probably doesn’t benefit from a fairly confusing editing in of the posters opinion, but it’s easy to tell the difference between his content and that of the actual Tucker show.
While this video does insert the clip of building number 7 coming down, you will notice that Tucker absolutely refuses to show it himself despite Jones’s repeated admonations. Pretty funny, actually, if you forget the horror of what happened.
