Ann Coulter Getting Tired
NBC and MSNBC are flogging the Ann Coulter thing to the max, and it’s getting more absurd. Why do these networks keep providing a platform for hate speech? This morning on Joe Scarborough’s show Coulter proclaimed that she’s getting tired of being called a Nazi every time she comes out with a new book. Well, nobody is calling her a Nazi but it’s a telling remark (Bob Cesca did notice a disturbing similarity to Saruman the traitorous white wizard). And anyway, it’s not a new book, just a paperback edition of last year’s book. Besides, we are all more tired of Ann Coulter than she is of us.
The latest Coulter flap actually started last Monday on ABC’s Good Morning America. Referring to her remarks at CPAC last March, where she embraced Willard (Mitt) Romney and called John Edwards a “faggot,” she said that she “wouldn’t insult gays by comparing them to John Edwards.” Then, claiming that Bill Maher had gotten away with wishing Vice President Dick Cheney had been killed in Afghanistan (which is not true, as the transcript of Maher’s show reveals), she said:
“So I’ve learned my lesson. If I’m going to say anything about John Edwards in the future, I’ll just wish he has been killed in a terrorist assassination plot.”
Then, on Tuesday, Chris Matthews had Coulter on “Hardball” for a full hour of lying. When Elizabeth Edwards phoned in to politely ask Coulter to stop her personal attacks (a staged confrontation arranged by Matthews), Coulter falsely asserted that John Edwards “charge[d] a poverty group $50,000 for a speech.”
Today, NBC’s David Gregory defended Coulter while interviewing Elizabeth Edwards:
“If you strip away some of the inflammatory rhetoric against your husband and other Democrats, the point she’s trying to make about your husband, Senator Edwards, running for the White House is in effect that he’s disingenuous…”
No, the hate speech is the issue. Coulter has nothing substantive to say, which is why she makes these baseless personal attacks. The network talking heads should be ashamed of themselves, but they have no shame.

Coulter is so flippant about the wellbeing of people other then herself, that it makes me physically ill to even look at her. Matthews shouldn’t give her a forum. He also has Armstrong Williams on as if he has something to say. This is the guy who got paid around $250,000 to plug the “No Child Left Behind” scam on his radio show. Even Utah saw through that one. Nearly EVERYBODY on your television is a liar. Ann Colter got out of a felony voting scandal that nobody knows about and that a judge let her get away with. These people belong in jail, not on TV.

The media is sensationalistic. They look for whatever is going to draw consumers and they don’t have a conscionce about whom they give a voice to. Sure, they denounce Coulter on air, but they’re all damn grateful for her outrageous antics and the increased viewership she provides them. It’s a mutually beneficial relationship. The American people lose.

Anne doesn’t know what she’s talking about. Once she said, “Poison the supreme court”, and a bunch of other wingnut trash, but Monday a.m. on ABC she called our fearless leader a nincompoop and nobody even noted that she sounded like one of us (if only for a nano-second). In any case she’s not aging well and looks more witchy everytime I see her (less and less frequenly, if I can avoid her). Ugly and incoherent if you ask me. If she represents ‘nutery’, brin on the reconditioning room stat.

Ms. Coulter is a fine young woman who has blonde hair and slender legs. Did she say something?

At the risk of over-qualifying myself, I was in the TV news business for 30 years. I agree with Cliff: People like Ann Coulter come along, make a big splash and the money that accompanies it then go away. It’s harder for these people to go away these days because there are so many outlets for their drivel. The reason they ultimately go away is they have no talent. Making inflammatory comments is easy. Backing them up is hard. One big thing’s consistent: they all have monkeys on their backs they use to relieve the stress they cause themselves with all their hate. Think Joe McCarthy. He had booze. Rush has oxycontin. O’Reilly has sex. Ann Coulter? We’ll find out some day. She and the American public are finally finding out that after the insults, threats and skimpy black dresses, there’s nothing there.

I love you Cliff Lyon!

She’s left her mark, er(slug) trail,… slime path. Not that there is anything wrong with that, and she always looked good doing it.

Cliff; Start a thread on the defeat of the shamnesty bill in the Senate, 53 nays, 46 yeas. Even the socialist Bernie Sanders the independent voted against this bill. If Sanders voted with Hatch, there’s all the proof I need to know the bill truly sucked.
Of course it is a bush supported bill, and the imbecile was so inattentive as to call the bill “amnesty” in broad daylight. His handlers must be furious. America is known to itself and this vote was a very good sign. Whew! If I was a democrat, I would be running scared, the people are upon you now, their will be done, if you wish to continue with the cush job, perks, and status.
Andy would be proud.

Cliff, weren’t yoou listening? She thinks GW’s position on imigration is impeachable. Go Anne…and btw get something to eat.
June 29th, 2007 at 6:08 am
His stance on immigration is more than impeachable considering his bald face lies concerning terror and then a wide open southern border. He is sworn to uphold the laws of the land, old and promulgated, he has done neither, and considering the inclusion of lies to begin the war in Iraq, you would think the pathetic dems would have his ass in a sling by now.
However, their own penchant for pandering to illegal aliens and those that would employ them, has forced them to throw in their lot with bush on this issue, in direct contravention of the majority will of the legal American people. They have lost an opportunity the dems, and I guarantee, that if most here would leave this little bubble at oneutah, they would come to realize how seriously they screwed up.
The American people are truly pissed, and have been for quite some time, and many of those that voted with bush on shamnesty, are going to go down in the next election. Democrats, like their good friend bush, have completely misunderestimated
the Will of the People on this, and so many issues.
No more elite bullshit manipulation. Our will be done, or else you go packing.

Glen, I agree with you, and can only add that for me the political turmoil of the past ten or so years is kind of like having been tossed out of the raft in some major rapid, I’m still kind of with it, ’cause my eyes are open and I’m swimming (somewhere), I’m pretty much the river…but where to place my feet?..I haven’t quite figured out. The buffeting continues. I’ll hold on a while, it’ll become clear. I hope.
June 29th, 2007 at 8:28 am
Btw, hows the tranmission project coming?
June 29th, 2007 at 8:29 am
I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that immigration is such a big issue, that gets millions of people marching in the streets and makes Republicans call for impeachment of President Bush. But why is this bigger than the occupation of Iraq? Bigger than illegal domestic surveillance? Bigger than torture and suspension of habeas corpus?
June 29th, 2007 at 10:36 am
Richard, it is not. It’s only another steaming pile we must dodge on our way to a richer democracy- sans such a plethora of screwball policies, crime and cowardice.

To see how to run the un-runnable, go to creaturecraft.com.
I picked up the re-built tranny yesterday, and am now re-lining the brake shoes to the drive shaft emergency brake. No findy anywhere, it was not produced because as a shaft brake, it needed to bind only, not brake, but somebody left it on and drove, burned it up…and it wasn’t me. I need some heat resistant epoxy or something. Maybe high temp JB Weld. Got any ideas? I cut and fashioned the shoes from lining material.
The reason the issue is so big is because it is so in your face, and follows you wherever you go, and in most walks of life. The fact that there are american maggots that are undercutting their fellow citizens wages with the practise is enough to make most working people wish to string the bastards up, and any sympathy towards illegal immigrants left Americans when they, and their supporters paraded around American streets sporting the mexican flag like they were at a soccer game.
The fact that those who are sworn to uphold the laws of the land, seem to ignore the Will of the People with impunity, while at the same time passing a pile of legislation that forces law abiding Americans into a ever narrower version of liberty, and with regulation at every turn in the process of living life. Meanwhile there are a class of people, not of our Country, able to attach largess, and then go to work in many places, working off the books, and in turn paying no taxes. Who wouldn’t be pissed?
Only idiots, those benefiting from the 20th century equivalent of slave labor, and the illegals themselves, or some elite scum with an agenda to make America a subservient labor pool, would think that it is OK. If you support the current situation, you can find your station in one of the above groups, and as the American people will soon demonstrate at the polls…..,
…..FUCK YOU VERY MUCH!!!
June 30th, 2007 at 10:03 am
Glenn, since it’s an ‘at-rest’ type brake,. I wonder if it really needs high-temp weld. Seems to me that a good quality epoxy ought to do. Some small diameter ‘keeper on either side of the shoe might provide a little added insurance that it won’t move around. Good luck with that,
June 30th, 2007 at 10:58 am
It is in the vise clamped with jb weld. If it doesn’t then I countersink rivet it.
Check this out. This activity will soon be illegal.
