OK, this is a two-hour movie. But there’s a synopsis. Looks like Part 1 alone would bore most people to tears, it’s a tedious essay on theology. Then Part 2 asserts without real evidence that not only the 9/11 attacks but the July 7, 2005 London bombings were false-flag operations by the US and UK governments against their own citizens. Part 3 says the Federal Reserve Bank is part of a conspiracy for one world government and the law does not require anyone to pay income taxes, and then notes the similarities to the Bush and Hitler regimes.
The theological part of the film falsely assumes that Christianity presents December 25 as the actual birth date of Christ. The reason we celebrate Christmas on that date is because a couple of centuries after the birth of Christ the church set that date deliberately to replace the pagan winter solstice celebrations, so of course there is a parallel to the winter solstice, but not for the reasons implied in the film. The Bible describes the shepherds in the fields with their sheep at the time of Jesus’ birth (Luke 2:8) which would have been highly unlikely in December. September has been suggested by various scholars, and the year might have been 3 B.C.
Oliver Stone did this kind of thing in “JFK” (1991). “Zeitgeist” filmmaker “Peter J.” presents a commonplace fact that informed people already know as if it were some kind of hidden secret that has just been revealed. I don’t know if there is a word for this technique of argument. With so many legitimate criticisms of Christianity available, why resort to something bogus?

Hi Otto, I was born in Germany and have been trying to make progressives understand that their efforts very often play directly into the hands of the elites.
Very often they do the elites bidding for them. In fact there are more than a few “progressives” that are wolves in sheeps’ clothing, directing earnest progressives in directions that slit their own throats. In the case of many progressives, they consider themselves intellectually superior, when in fact they dance to flip side of the conservative coin, and help to further divide the nation, which allows the elite to continue to rip us off.
I try, but it is like talking to the wall. They don’t get Hegel, or they don’t want to believe that everything they believe has been carefully planted into their heads to make them the one side of two great extremes. Reason being the middle, is thrown out the window.
I will give Americans a piece of advice to spot elite based disinformation, it comes from a man with your namesake, Otto Von Bismarck.
“Never believe anything until it is officially denied”.

Larry we didn’t, or haven’t, unelected him either. Impeachment as described by pelosi, “off the table” is so very wrong. Unbeknownst to most Americans there is a sizeable portion of educated Europeans, Asians, Indians, etc. that know our system of government and our Constitution. They are watching and see the loyal opposition falling down.
If for no other reason impeachment should proceed to show those observing that yes America is not a dictatorship, with the democrat party as lapdog. As it now stands, that is what the educated all over the world are seeing, and by the looks of beast and bama, if elected, we won’t be getting out of this mess, anytime soon.

Richard, You should try to watch the first part of the movie on Christian theology. I provides the best summary of the origins and history of the virgin birth and resurrection story.
I don’t understand how the December 25 issue relates to the argument that ultimately concludes that the Jesus of the bible is made up.
Isn’t it ironic that you would argue for the existence of Christ with no real evidence and against controlled demolition of WTC in the face of overwhelming evidence?

Cliff, I am not religious but my Catholic upbringing makes it easier for me to accept the existence of Jesus of Nazareth as an historical figure (regardless of any supernatural claims made about him). He is mentioned by at least one Roman historian and there is archaeological evidence that supports some of the biblical story.
At the risk of going over ground previously covered, what is this “overwhelming evidence” about building demolitions on 9/11? I’ve read the 9/11 Commission report and several books. You’ve made reference to cold-fusion physicist Dr. Steven Jones, but even he does not offer any conclusions– the most he’ll say is that it’s a hypothesis.

There are at least twenty three known historians who lived in and around the Mediterranean during or soon after the assumed life of Jesus. None of them mention Jesus or any such similar person.
The Bible and the Jesus story is a classic astrotheological myth substantively indistinguishable from earlier myths.
The “at least one Roman historian” you mentioned is Josephus and his account is considered a fraud by many and suspect by most scholars.
As for 9/11, you are asking me questions that suggest you have not done any serious analysis. Reading the 911 commission report is but an exercise in futility if your goal is to get to the truth.
If you seek the truth, you will find it.

Most scholars do not consider the two references to Jesus by Josephus to be fraudulent (i.e. added by later editors). Read the full Wikipedia article.
I haven’t read Josephus’ account. I took Latin in high school, however, and have read the Annals of Cornelius Tacitus, who writes that Christians “derived their name and origin from Christ, who, in the reign of Tiberius, had suffered death by the sentence of the procurator Pontius Pilate.” (Annals 15.44)
It makes no sense to simply dismiss the well-documented 9/11 Commission report in favor of… what, exactly? The 9/11 report lays out a detailed sequence of events that makes sense. I have seen nothing comparable for the “false flag” conspiracy theory, if we can call it that. Does “Zeitgeist” offer a timeline, with who, what, where, when and how?

That was the only line Tacitus ever wrote that referred to Christ in the context any other biblical name, that being Pontius Pilate who was well known for his butchery of the intellectual and rebels (not inlkie our modern day Decider.
In the literature of the time, the word Christ meant “the anointed.”
But the more bigger fact is thats pretty much it, as far as reference goes, and it so vague and isolated against the rich recorded history of the region in that time.
I can’t get over the irony of the juxtaposition of your standard for proof that Jesus existed and the way the towers fell.

I don’t think your comparison is valid because context is important. During the Roman Empire, few books were written, and historians focused almost exclusively on the doings of emperors and generals– not obscure prophets who lived more than a thousand miles from Rome. Pontius Pilate, the governor of Judaea, scarcely gets a mention either. That’s why archaeologists were so excited to find an inscription with his name included. It should not surprise anyone that Christianity attracted little notice among historians until it became a major religion under the emperor Constantine.
Now we’re in the information age and hundreds of thousands of books are published every year. The Internet as we well know is a ready reference for all publicly available information. Yet some people apparently believe a major conspiracy involving possibly thousands of people has been successfully covered up for almost six years. This by the same government that can’t do anything else competently.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof, and so far there is no proof at all.

The office of Vice President used to be a separate ticket, and often certainly could become a person a President would not want hanging around, keeping an eye on him, whilst dutifully and competently waiting his/her turn at the helm.
I propose that the office of VEEP become that again, and not the choice of the presidential candidate…., who is the candidate before he is elected to tell the public who will be the # 2 in the Oath of serving the public interest under sworn Constitution should he/she be elected?

Your drought up separate elections, I don’t think that is the best idea.
If the office of VP is a job with training there would be an accountability that is needed. It would actually become a job with conscience. where both of them are accountable so in theory corruption would be lessened significantly.
When two would have to agree they both would have to watch their asses if the whole thing is to work.
If you build accountability in that cuts both ways it makes em accountable.
They cannot make decisions that will harm the public at large.
As a Democrat I would like to see this instilled with Gore/Edwards. Just think of the coming years where the\Democrats first benefit from this plan.
Think of the great candidates we will bring up.
It would devastate the rank and file Republican agenda.
Just think, years in power for the people instead of the Elitists,constant accountability is the key to a working Republic.

Calling all Attorneys’!
I called for all attorneys’ July 10, 2007 to see the movie Zeitgeist. I put it in everywhere.
I had a running battle with the neocons keeping it on the list and I won!
I knew when they stopped deleting it in Washington DC I was victorious.
Attorneys’ smell money and blood and an interesting case.
That is what they live for.
This is s battle for the planet and Zeitgeist is proof of crime.
Because so many have already seen my adds and the movie it will it is already too late for you elitist scum.
Instead of staying scum join us to build the new world. It will be far more profitable and really fun.
Yes you will lose most of your money but you will still be rich and safe from harm.
I propose we end this fight and start building now.
Because the crimes are so great and have been going on for so long, how do you prosecute?
There is no punishment to fit the crimes so we are left with this.
How do we do it so you won’t be seeking to harm us anymore?

I saw a movie called After the Warming by James Burke on PBS in the late 80s. It changed the way I looked at the future and gave me a resolve to do something about it before it was too late. This movie blew my mind with the scope of the devastation of the globe and horrible loss of life,

I was truly blown away by this movie. really, although being nearly entirely about American atrocities, I felt it still rang true about this increasingly westernized world.
Most of the worlds countries/governments/corporations are screwing their people out of any rights they can erode & destroy, by the use of terrorism & scare tactics.
& it’s a truly saddening state of affairs to watch a very high percentage of my fellow human beings remain completely oblivious to the fact that the system is fucked & fucking us. There is a serious lack of consciousness on the planet.. .

The way events are unfolding Cliff, there is no one, even the holy credentialed, that have any credibility. Super-secret demolition teams planted thousands of pounds of explosives on every single floor of WTC 1, 2 and 7 and wired them to detonate sequentially, without anyone noticing. The charges in the twin towers were set so that the collapses would initiate at the same points where two 767s would later fly into the buildings. The underlying premise is that banking elite rule is worse than rule by various kings and dictators, but that’s simply not true. Average person is far better off under their rule. If they have done bad things for their cause, what horrible things were done by average kings and dictators? Those countries most effected - US, UK, Canada, Germany are the best places in the world to live. Places where these forces were not in action (North Korea, Cuba) are dismal places. Notice also the improvement that comes about when the rule of the baking elite is established as in China, Russia, etc. Poverty is not eliminated to be sure (nor can it) but overall its much better for everyone. So why not? Maybe a more or less rational worl government is better than capricios, unstable, narrow minded local government. I suggest the makers of the movie investigate the changes/trends in the standard of living when banking elites are in charge vs. regional governments - then we can better decide if the forces in Zeitgeist are a blessing or a curse.

Nice discussion! The movie certainly is compelling. It is the first 9/11 conspiracy film put together in an intelligent and cohesive mannor. Usually such things just come off as a bunch of crackpots. I already believed everything contended up to the point of actually demolition of the buildings, but now I am not so sure. It was odd that the buildings collapesed in such a clean and orderly fashion, not once but THREE TIMES! This is difficult to reconcile with the jet only theory. And based on all the other lies we know this administration has perpetrated on us, there is nothing I would put past them at this point. Regardless of the truth of that, there is no question that 9/11 happened because of the incompetency of this administration, or worse. And that the response has been the most costly and damaging chain of events in the history of the country. I still cannot believe that they were “elected” twice, all though the obvious catalyst for that event is shown in part one of the movie, religion and the sheep that follow it.

First off I don’t know what lies you are talking about, as the link I posted doesn’t make any claims and only shows what happened when the F4 hit a wall at 500 miles per hour. I invited everyone to bring cameras and document everything that happened and even help the authorities in capturing violent disruptive people. It was all about winning hearts and minds.
I invited everyone to shop at local businesses to build support and keep them from minding us there. We could have been there for a while and it would have been courteous to do so.
It would have ushered in the best Holiday season in the history of America.
I called for vendors to get ready for the crowds. Like I said I had it all planned with safety for all as my first priority.
I knew from what I had detected it was the right plan that would have worked at that right time.
So why didn’t these so called progressive and so called truth movement leaders support it?
I was told point blank it was because I was involved in it.
Think about it for a second, they didn’t support a plan that was guaranteed to work that would have ended this nightmare in one step because of me.
