An oldie but goodie.
We are reminded at the end that Reagan was an idiot too. Why are Republicans afraid of smart people?

No question about it, Reagan too. Good question you ask. Here in Utah it has a lot to do with so many members of the predominant religion being subverted by the preachments of Elder Ezra Taft Benson. Hatch, Hansen and others have done a good job perpetuating those myths and stereotypes that somehow being a Democrat is mutually exclusive to membership in the LDS Church.

Is Bush an idiot? What an idiotic question.
The man is a fucking imbecile.

Better question, why are idiots afraid of idiots?
A: Because you have met your match.
Look around imbeciles, are you the ones, that spin the wheels?

Rooster,
If you’re going to write a post at least be clever enough to come up with your own words, and not steal mine.
And yes, I realize you were playing off my use of the word “imbecile.†However, stealing my word makes you look as if your stretching for a truth that is just not there, as those closest to Bush know he is many things, but agree an intellectual giant is not one of them. Hell, in many ways he’s not even smart.
I have no problem saying I am more intelligent than George Bush. Does that make me arrogant? You bet! But it is what it is.
I may not be as shrewd, as conniving nor as focused on a war, knowing the numbers of dead, wounded, maimed, and horrific mental trauma I would be responsible for. But then I would never have rushed to the war as he did. I never would have relied on false information. I would never have ignored the horrific consequences so many people tried to show me.
And I certainly would not go around the country, filling the audience seats with only my supporters, giving speeches about the so-called war on terror, falling all over my waords as I basked in their applause, giving them my shit-eating grin.
What kind of man is this president? Where is his sense of morality?
He is an arrogant imbecile whose incoherence is made worse with his constant smirking as he stumbles over his words. This might be endearing to some people, but to the 75 percent of the nation who do not support him, not to mention most of the industrialized nations of the world, he has become a clown.
This is all while HIS horrific war continues, the occupation where HE is responsible for the obliteration of thousands upon thousands of innocent human beings, including children. THIS man is responsible for this and HE cannot even make sure he says a coherent sentence for god’s sake!
I do not agree with the YouTube interview that you can be smart and not be able to speak well. That is nonsense, at least as it applies to Bush. I realize many people have legitimate fears of speaking in public, but Bush does not fear it, though he probably should.
Therefore, his inability to form a coherent sentence, in my opinion, is an indication of his intellect, and obviously, to coin a phrase, there is no there there.
In fact, I think our ever-increasing level of “Bushisms†while hilarious, are not really that hilarious at all. I think they’re an indication of the tragedy we, the American people, imposed on ourselves.
So what does this idiot do when he could be taking speech lessons? This idiot goes golfing. I wonder how many people he’s hit with his golf ball because he cannot say the word “Fore†correctly? If anyone can mispronounce it he can.
He is, indeed, an imbecile. Get your own word next time.

While George W. Bush may very well be an imbecile or worse, an idiot, that does not mean that Mike Huckabee is not, Nor Mitt, Rudy, Fred, Ron, etc. As the center moves to the right, Intelligence moves to the left. Nothing will change this.
December 30th, 2007 at 3:23 pm
A better question, yet, is: what is America going to do given the fact that America has become a country filled with “stupid and susceptible people” (Norman Mailer) the likes of which gleefully elect imbecilic idiots like George W. Bush and, following such elections and recognition that such persons are, in fact, imbecilic idiots, then commence to defending their imbecilic and idiotic actions as being good for America?

You say that Bush is an idiot but then you believe that he masterminded 911 and then successfully pinned the blame on Osama bin Laden and Al Queada. So is he dumb as rocks or the most cunning and clever criminal mind in the history of man-kind? Which is it?
December 30th, 2007 at 4:06 pm
Ken:
No one that I recall - at least at 1u - has suggested that Bush ever masterminded anything other to take his daily dump in the WH toilet. Cheney, on the other hand, is an entirely different story. It is Cheney who masterminded 9/11 and blamed it on Osama, not Bush. Accordingly, my friend, the answer to your questions is: “dumb as rocks.”
December 30th, 2007 at 4:18 pm
Dumb as rocks or major cunning criminal, either way it’s the United States Great loss.

Is Bush an idiot? Is Iran an islamic nation? The answers are the same.

Yo Jamie, I have used the word imbecile long before you ever came to this site to describe bush, in fact I have decidered long ago that he’s is not an idiot, but in fact an imbecile.
No one owns the English language.
You amuse yourself if you believe I read what you write.
In addition I didn’t read what you wrote, only did so when you addressed me.
From wiki:
idiot: a word derived from the Greek ἰδιώτης, idiÅtÄ“s (”person lacking professional skill,” “a private citizen,” “individual”), from ἴδιος, idios (”private,” “one’s own”).[1]
bush is not a private citizen, and by the way he has mastered democrats, certainly not lacking skill.
imbecile:1. Stupid; silly.
As in stupid is as stupid does, like dems voting to fund bushs’ imbecilic projects time and again.
bush is all of that, like the dems he coons on a regular basis, in fact our government these days, is imbecilic all the way round.
So Jaynee, are you a imbecile too, or just an idiot? Does the Rooster crow, and herd the hens?
Jaynee consider; Stephen Hawking cannot speak, Einstein was a verbal bumbler.., on the other hand, hitler had a way with words, as did ted bundy. Deaf people master speech, but it never quite sounds perfect. Stupid are they? Even a blind chicken finds a few kernels of corn.
Now, intelligence related to ability to form sentences, is that an idiotic pretension or imbecilic? Your call, as you seem the expert.

No Ken,
Pay attention. No one is suggesting Bush masterminded 9/11. He’s too stupid, you are correct. Do your homework.

We can never forget…”it all depends on what your definition of is, is”. William Jefferson Clinton.
[last february 2006] in the middle of what was supposed to be a funeral service for coretta scott king, jimmy carter seemed to equate president george w. bush’s recent terrorist surveillance program with the US government’s wiretapping of dr. martin luther king, jr. in the 1960s. carter must not have had time to explain his inappropriately partisan comments fully (i mean, it was only a 6-hour service), because he left out the following information:
# 1: the wiretapping of dr. martin luther king, jr. was approved by a democrat (and solely carried out under democrat presidents)
# jimmy carter, during his own presidency, allowed similar surveillance of suspected spies.
By the time anyone is done being presitwit, they all look like idiots, if they don’t die first.

What with the restriction? The truth takes time and has many barriers.

Carter got the proper warrants to do the surveillance. There is no connection.
January 1st, 2008 at 1:25 am
Wrong info Larry, Carter wiretapped foreigners, and that is not illegal, nor does he need any permission, he didn’t get congressional approval for this.
Needless to say, what you will do to others overseas, will eventually set the precedent for domestic behavior…in time, just takes the right situation. Lincoln proved that, just need the right enemy, and will to power.
This is America Larry, as a relative told me, there is no difference from now and the Wild West, just today all the Cowboys are wearing their guns under their jackets.
What world do you live in Larry? Do you imagine this shit hasn’t been going on for ages, and by all of our presidents, irrespective of party?
Needless to say Larry, welcome to the Empire, where hair-splitting is a fine art. So what about MLK? He was a domestic terrorist wasn’t he?
PS: Larry this is my first post on this thread, are you referring to another thread?

Sorry to get back so late to this post. I’ve been busy.
It’s Jaynee.
I have been here before. Just not often.
Good.
No, they don’t. But when I’ve just used the word, it is unimaginative to use it immediately again. You do own a Thesaurus, don’t you?
Yes, I do.
Hogwash. It was a two-sentence post. You read it.
No argument there.
Neither.
Probably. Do you live in the chickencoop?
Godwin‘s Law.
Padding, fluff and nonsense.
It’s neither as it is the truth.
Yes. Yes I am.

Sorry Jaymie, but, I don’t read short posts, unless it is someone of consequence, and I’m not The Rooster. . It’s a reflection of chicken headed thoughts. That said, as you have engaged me, I read the replies.
godwins law aside, hitler has defined the last century in a way no person has, and the truth is, he was an excellent public speaker. So godwins law is really just an adopted opinion. That is the definition of unimaginative. His “law’ is really just a symposium of the progressive academias inability to honestly reflect on reality. There is nothing unique about hitler but his success. Let us not forget that his concept of eugenics, is after all an American construct. authored by this goon
In another incarnation onsite, I have had this discussion, and have argued that bush is no idiot, but qualifies as an imbecile. Imbeciles have to be kept, out of necessity, as they are family, or by choice, because the host is themselves an imbecile, or said, a stupid person, or group of stupid people.
The human “chicken coop” is where we all live, you must be quite a hen, laying these eggs.
For your satisfaction and amusement, bush is a somnambulistic stinkbug.

glenn:
You have said that you use different names on this blog, so when I see a comment that seems to be you, I have to guess. The Rooster is making the same point that you make when he implies there is no difference between the Republicans and Democrats. That is a case you make repeatedly here.
I have to admit, the Dems aren’t helping me out much in my quest to prove you wrong, but, as I’ve said before, if the Republican weren’t stealing elections wholesale lately, the Democrats would have much more power, and would be doing great things. I can’t say that if that power got to be out of control, as is the case with today’s Republicans, they wouldn’t abuse that power, however, I doubt it.
