Porn at the gym? Or just a bunch uptight students overreacting in happy valley
I saw this reported on KSL and decided I had misunderstood. Apparently not. Tragically not. From the D-News, I see that a group of students from BYU and UVSC are making some downright pathetic demands of Gold’s gym.
They are demanding that the gyms get rid of R-rated or sexually explicit PG-13 movies and install blinds on aerobic room windows to block views of provocative dancing.
Some of the club’s rap videos like “Shake Your Money Maker” were dubbed pornographic, and they said the lyrics were just as offending
I mean, seriously, blinds on the aerobic room? Are you kidding me? Maybe we should just have separate male and female gyms and require all the women to wear burqas while we’re at it. These are embarrasingly puerile demands. Keep the aerobics classes hidden because someone might get aroused at the sight of women exercising. I’m pretty sure what’s going on in the aerobics class isn’t pole dancing with women in string bikini bottoms and pasties - or men in g-strings shaking their money makers.
And let’s talk about the provocative music videos. Okay, I’ve never been to these particular locations but I’ve been in gyms. You don’t have to watch TV while you’re on the aerobics machines. You can read a book or a magazine. You don’t have to watch the videos. I watch a lot of MTV. I’ve seen lots of sexy videos but I have yet to see one that qualifies as pornographic.
I remember reading somewhere something about the “eye of the beholder.” Another phrase springs to mind - panty-sniffing moral scolds. Another one about idle hands and the devil’s work. It seems to me some people have too much time on their hands.

Yea for BYU girls impeccable chastity and modesty! However, they still need to break through to those X rated cheerleaders. Oh and don’t forget those Cougars Gymnasts. Waaayyy too Sexy!
