Leading Church Bodies

This frightening map highlights 8 major Christian denominations, showing where they represent a plurality (and in counties marked with a + at least 50%) of the relevant counties’ population.

This shows that there are quite a few remarkably contiguous religious blocks in the US. That is what Al-Qaeda will call “integrated” neighborhoods when they occupy us. As long as the Lutherans — possibly in cahoots with the Mormons– as long as they don’t bomb Baptist Churches and blame it on the Christians, Al-Qaeda won’t need to build barriers. After all, we have been living peacefully side by side for hundreds of years.  God forbid they should divide us to keep us from killing each other.

Anyway, I think the training camps in Kansas and Idaho are non-denominational. As long as you believe in Allah Jesus, they’ll take you.

    Westchester County is Catholic?

  2. Ken Bingham Says:

    Cliff

I’m glad to see you consider the LDS church as being Christian.

  3. Albert O. Says:

The LDS Church is hardly Christian; notwithstanding, moreover, what Cliff might think on the subject.

  4. Cliff Lyon Says:

Hey, Who am I to decide whose Christian?

Since there is no evidence of God yet, I figure ya’ll have already gone so far out on a limb, whats the sense in getting into minutiae?

    Yer all crazy!

  5. glenn Says:

So who or what is a Jew? Since it isn’t a race, and is defined by religious orientation, how do those who do not believe in God proclaim to be one? We can well see that Jews contain all races, unless of course you are of a certain variety of “Schwarze”, then you don’t qualify.

Oh yeah, I forgot, in a rather bigoted interpretation, it is ones’ mother that must be defined Jewish by the Judaic church before being so claimed as within the group of Gods
    “chosen people”.

No matter where you look, the madness is complete.

I always figured there was a sunconscious reason you choose to live in Zion.

  6. Ken Bingham Says:

Then again who wants to be associated with a religion that is home to Fred Phelps and Mike Huckabee?

…with a crystaline over-lay of ‘Jack-Buddhists’ adding just the right level of sanity to all our wonderful and exceptionally blessed land. The trees and dirt are shouting way too loud.

  8. Anonymous Says:

How come the Mormons are colored brown?

Dang, those guys are always getting shit upon.

  9. glenn Says:

“Then again who wants to be associated with a religion that is home to Fred Phelps and Mike Huckabee”?

Or benny netan ” the yahoo”? Or ariel the “tumor” sharon?, or shimon the “weasel” peres?

The reason is subconscious Cliff, but in Utah, it could well be a “sun-conscious” reason.

  10. Richard Warnick Says:

One of the ironies of the Iraq occupation is that practically everything Americans have tried to do to “promote democracy” has served to increase sectarian hatred.

Cliff said, “Since there is no evidence of God yet…”. I don’t know you personally but I will say that your picture does not reveal the fact that you are without sight. What a shame.

  12. Ken Bingham Says:

    Lomonte

Amen. None are so blind that will not see.

  13. Larry Bergan Says:

I’m just glad to see a map that shows most of the US in blue.

  14. glenn Says:

What’s up with the dems, why have they not begun swiftboating mccain?

Despite the rather obvious likelihood he will have a tough time getting elected, are progressives willing to take ANY chances after 8 years of bush?

Where is the team reconnoitering the soft white underbelly that is mccains past?

He was one of the Keating 5, among many other rumors about his incipient madness. Have to get that on film and put it on youtube. Don’t wait.

What are they waiting for pray tell, they going to be like kerry and hold up to some imaginary moral standard?

As for anyone believing in a diety, you should save the sympathy, as none of us have any simple idea if how we are living, or what we are believing is going to save us.

Save us from what is the question? What you think God and your faith may be saving you from, will best define the brand of your religious conviction. To yourself, all other interpretations are simply 2nd hand.

Man does need God to be “good”, nor does he need a devil to be “bad”.

…and it is so true that there none so blind as those that will not see. No one owns their blindness, it generally has to be pointed out to them.

  15. glenn Says:

Larry, those blues are catholics not democrats.

Waiting for the next inquisition. TorqueMada for president!!

    Torture is legal, recant, recant!!

  16. caveat Says:

Richard, I think ‘war criminals’ should be inserted where you wrote ‘Americans’.

Glenn, two things, (1) my feeling is that Mitt has only put his campaign on pause, wondering if the mighty Mc won’t be succesfully swift-boated somewhere along the line. The dems won’t want to expend too much of thier precious ammo on what I consider to be such an unacceptable cantidate. Mitt is being hopeful but it won’t do him any good. & (2): That was two!

  17. glenn Says:

Let us hope, no matter who it is that becomes our leader, that he affords himself the self doubt to fall upon greater minds, even if they are imaginary.

I should say, given the history of the human race, if a moral God does not exist, let us please invent one, for our greater glory, and convenience.

  18. Larry Bergan Says:

    glenn:

When the time comes for us all to declare our religious inclinations, I’m going to be just as vulnerable to a Mormon inquisition as a Catholic one. Even though I’m still registered as a Mormon, I’m not likely to lie myself into the comforts of a Mormon soup kitchen any more then I will a Catholic one. We’ll see if torture or hunger can break me though, I guess.

  19. Larry Bergan Says:

    Cliff:

I tried to send you an E-mail about this because I didn’t want to look stupid publicly, but I accidentally destroyed everything on my hard drive, including the password needed to post here. If you’re not tired of me by now, I would like to at least have the option of posting on the front page again. Thanks for letting me get as many things off my chest as you have already though. It felt good!
