Politicians, Prostitutes and it’s nobody’s damn business unless . . .

So, I see that New York Governor Eliot Spitzer has been caught in a prostitution bust.

I just don’t care.

Unless - and this is why the Larry Craig’s are so disgusting - Spitzer has built his career on trying to outlaw prostitution.  I understand in his previous incarnations Spitzer has done exactly that.  Which makes him a hypocrite.

On a slightly less easy tack, I tend to think prostitution should be legal.  I have heard all the moral objections but it seems that no matter what, we’re always going to have prostitution with us and making it illegal makes it more dangerous for both buyers and sellers without actually having an effect on its occurrence or frequence.

Well, since Spitzer in German means “sharpener”, we can only assume that he was honing his tool.

Too good. I love it, the leadership that gets to rule this Country is rotten from top to bottom, left to right.

Sure prostitution is legal Glendon in many places, but erstwhile moral and upstanding politicians still suffer the onus of banging whores of any sex, if discovered, no matter their hypocrisy, that is just the icing. Hell, Larry got boned and all he did was squat a bit wider than is advisable.

    Not you Larry B.

Poor little eliot,.. in Jersey everything is legal, as long as you don’t get caught.

He’s gotta resign, another one bites the dust. Just think if he was never found out. Think that those who didn’t know couldn’t ask for favors to keep quiet? Or how about favors for favors? That’s good government. Sort of a “Jis pro quo”, complete with the pro hos.

He’s scum, and gets the boot. What an idiot, there is no end of hos that would do him for free. Prostitution is lawbreaking, and violates all Oaths, he had as AG and Governor. Simple cheating on a spouse is not.

  2. Larry Bergan Says:

The only whores I abhor are the ones in top ranks of our media. They are truly the ones selling their bodies and souls. When people search around in their minds for the worst thing you can call someone, it should be hypocrite, NOT whore. There is ample evidence that Jesus agrees with me on that one!

  3. pop goes the list Says:

Who is blaming the whores? They are just doin’ their job. Pipe cleaners, tool sharpeners, or as they are named in Canada, “sex trade workers”, it’s legal.

They care so much about them there, they do not want their esteem damaged by being named whores.

Everyone cared so much up there, that 50 of them were murdered and fed to the pigs, by one guy over a period of years.

The issue is it’s illegal here and against the Oaths that are sworn by eliot.

  4. Ken Bingham Says:

Just like Rush Limbaugh said, things like this are resume enhancers for Democrats.

  5. caveat Says:

Ken Limbaugh / Rush Bingham, here’s what really happened but you won’t hear on the corporate media: Someone leaked the pilfered phone book of a madam particularly active on the eastern seaboard. After screening for and assuring the alibis of the Republican names present (by far the more numerous by factors of 10), Spitzers name was offered up, a wire was placed on the whore, and the whole thing reverse engineered as further media distraction for the abonimable choice the pubs have made as thier offering to the Position of World Leader (he’s smarmy, but he’s white). It also masks bushes admission of torture and takes out Spitzer. Things are looking up for the Grand Old Party! Yes sir-ee. Yes, and thanks Elliot, ya schmuck.

Check me out when I’m making stuff up Rush-style!

    Source Cav?

Sounds good. Just one problem, what is to stop any whores from dropping dime? She/He could write a book, go on oprah…make money.

If a few girls go missing or are fed to the pigs, then the story might have some legs.

But really, how stupid do you have to be eliot? Guess he thought he was in the club. Guess again.

eliot as AG in a state like NY likely made a few enemies, from all sides, his demise could be from any number of sources, especially with his arrogant big mouth about getting the bad guys, and doing good. More democrat Shakespearean tragedy.

We are not the leader of the World, so whoever we choose, is just leader of America.

  7. caveat Says:

Pop, you’re fast. I swear, I’m making this up. There never was a Spitzer…any more than there was a jeff gannon.

  8. pop goes the list Says:

He pissed someone off. These guys are all actors on the stage. Hence the Shakespeare reference.

    They all know each other.

I could just see eliot when he found out.

    “Et tu $1500 hosebag”?

  9. Ken Bingham Says:

Spitzer probably crossed Hillary somehow and she sent her goon squads after him. She would go after Obama too but just like the line in the movie Giant now he’s too big to kill (politically that is), however I wouldn’t put it past her.

  10. pop goes the list Says:

carrot whittler is a democrat Ken, so is hildy, she is the same as him, just has a broom between her legs.

  11. Albert O. Says:

Gotta say, this story just broke my heart. Not because I care all that much for the wife and kids - they will survive just fine - but because Spitzer is a Democrat!!!

God dang it! These types of stories are supposed to be reserved for the Repugliscum hypocrites! Mark Foley and Larry Craig, for example, come to mind, as do Duke Cunningham, Sen. Stevens (Alaska??) and Tom Delay. I just hate it when a Democrat proves him or herself a hypocrite - Spitzer prosecuted prostitution rings as Attorney General of New York!!!

But the thing that really gets me is the price tag!! Up to $5,000 dollars per hour!!! I cannot help but think the fun I would have for an entire week hangin’ at the Alamo with $5,000 to spend; and the fun my buds (you too, POP and Ken Bingham) and gals would have!!! God dang it, for that price we could even buy some real blow!!

  12. Misty Fowler Says:

I don’t think that being a Democrat makes you immune from scandal or prostitutes or money laundering, or any of that. I do think that being a Democrat (in office) generally means that your fellow Democrats aren’t going to “have your back” and keep things quiet. He’s far more likely to be ostracized by Democrats than Republicans generally are when these things happen.

Honestly, the only reason I really even care much about the situation is the implication that he might be involved in some of of money laundering or fraud scheme, along with watching to see if Hillary dumps him overboard.

On a lighter note - what would happen if the Governor of Nevada were found with a prostitute? A pat on the back for buying local? :)

  13. pop goes the list Says:

I so much enjoy the confusion of ethics that political polarity brings to the “true believing” mind.

Many democrats are totally corrupt. For history, Huey Long, LBJ, Rostenkowski, Clinton, it has nothing to do with party affiliations. By and large they are all corrupt. To use the office as clinton did for freebees is grade school behavior for a sitting president, and certainly compromises the man decisions as the knowledge spills out. Can’t remember him lying his butt off? Quite presidential.

Then there is FDR in his corrupt Supreme Court packing plan.

Can’t forget Trafficant, or William Jefferson, dem of Louisiana 16 indictments and still sitting in Congress. Bribery, money laundering, too much to believe really that he is still in office.

Reps are corrupt, and maybe they defend each other better, because they know the system is dodgy and wish to retain power. So do democrats, when you stop being a “true believer” the blinders come off.

Watch dems rally to eliot, saying it’s just whoring and a personal choice. Problem is, whatever you think personally, soliciting whores is illegal in where he fell afoul, and for a man that has sworn Oaths to uphold the Laws of the state and federal government, he broke them. So he’s an idiot. Do you really want an idiot as governor of 26 million people?

Surely stands within the realm of “Shall be removed” for high crimes and misdemeanors. Article 2 section 4 of the Constitution.

Though in NY, perhaps a few well placed bribes, dem bribes, could change the tide as to whether he gets impeached. Save us all the trouble eliot…and resign in shame.

For levity: What size rock did eliot promise to give to his wife while she stood there next to him during his mea culpa? The look on her face is pure terrorism.

  14. pop goes the list Says:

For the record, here are some of the facts surrounding the case.

    He screwed the wrong people.

As a side note: The dual passport crap has got to go as part of immigration reform.

  15. caveat Says:

Since when is it a problem to break the law? Surely a ’signing statement’ will turn up momentarily.

You see, in this world, the higher up on the totem pole you are, the less stricures do the law present (it is here that I confess to torture). As Govenor of that very populous state, Elliot is entitled to break his fair share, or would be entitled were he a republican.

  16. Richard Warnick Says:

Dr. Laura explains: it’s his wife’s fault. “When the wife does not focus in on the needs and the feelings — sexually, personally — to make him feel like a man, to make him feel like a success, to make him feel like her hero, he’s very susceptible to the charm of some other woman.”

But I give Spitzer extra credit for finding a way to cheat on his wife that is also a federal crime. I guess it takes a clever lawyer.

  17. pop goes the list Says:

    and 5000 dollars an hour…

the circle is complete, eliot is a Jew hypocrite criminal, Dr. Laura is a Jewess moralizer, the guy who runs the whores is a Jew criminal…the whores are likely a group of money grubbing Shiksas…

..the guilt circle is complete…no problem.

Now it is just time for poor little eliot to pay up!

  18. caveat Says:

If I were a citizen of the pretty great state of New York, my concern about elliots budgetary ineptitude would be pegged. Even in the big Apple one should be able to line up sexual services for a much more modest fee. No whore on earth is worth $5.000.00. It would be interesting to find out how his other expenditures lined up with reality. $4.98 for the school board?
