Buh Bye Chris Cannon or No More Pork for Utah
What a pleasant surprise to wake up to. Arguably one of the most shameless and despicable Republicans in modern history has been unceremoniously sent packing.
We’ve done our best over the years to hurt soon-to-be-FORMER Congressman Chris Cannon, but never in my wildest dreams did I imagine Utah republicans would do the deed themselves.
But did Utah Republicans trade in Cannon for another version of backward-thinking bravado, or did they do it to make sure a Democrat wins the seat in November so they can have some representation in Congress? But I don’t think they’re that smart.
Far as I can tell know one has told West Jordan and Utah County that the Republican revolution is over.
No more pork for Utah.
3rd District primary: Rep. Cannon spiked by newbie Chaffetz
Incumbent not even close in re-election bid

Chris Cannon is among the least remarkable Congressmen in American history. He will be remembered best as a rank-in-file water boy for DC Republicans.
The highlight of his tenure?
…his firm and principled stance against blow jobs in the oval office.
Utah is all the better for booting his ass. I think I’ll stay.

The sad reality is this. “Chris Cannon wasn’t conservative enough”. Yep, you heard it here first. The Republicans of his district are so out there, that even Chris Cannon, one of the nuttiest, right-wing ideologues in the country, wasn’t nutty enough. And if you heard Chaffetz debate Cannon, you’ll see that Chaffetz is out there in the same philosophical neighborhood as Ken Bingham and Gayle Swastika.
Just saying.

I tried to watch the debate on “Utah Now” and had to turn it off when his opponent said he thought global warming was an Al Gore hoax. Cannon deserves to loose his citizenship for standing there beside Bush and friends when the “Military Commissions Act” was signed, and clapping while we lost a huge chunk of our liberties.

I was astounded in 2000 when the GOP took down incumbent pretty decent Congressman Merrill Cook and ran a right-wing idiot ideologue in his place. This is even more astounding.

Losing Cannon will be a blow to progressive Utah.
The new guy, Chaffetz will apply the will of the People, and the current illegal immigration format is about to get rattled in Utah.
I guess you never know a good thing until it is gone.
