OneUtah Purchases “Top Spot” on Major Blog

As a gesture of thanks to JD Berger for his dedication to the National Conversation and commitment to getting as many guns out there as possible, I have purchased, on behalf OneUtah’s great authors, “Top Spot” on JD Berger’s “The Real Gun Guys.”

For $5 bucks, even if he breaks the agreement (*and keeps my money) it will have been worth every second of glory.

OneUtah Purchased Top Spot on Real Gun Guys

My favorite comment from this fine blog:

It’s pretty clear that Cliff is just an attention whore, standing on the corner with an incomprehensible sign screaming at traffic.

His pathetic attempt at witty reparte, stereotypes and veiled threats of violence prove that he couldn’t argue his way out of a paper bag.

Fortunately, he’s been exposed as the effete fraud that he really is.

    Cliff, YOU ROCK!

I’ll bet he takes it down in seconds.

  2. Samantha Says:

Cliff! You are simply brilliant! I can’t get enough of you!

  3. Who is watching the watchers? Says:

I figure jd about covers it there…and keeps your money.

He’ll probably use your fiver for target practice, take a picture of it and post it. As long as he doesn’t destroy it won’t be illegal.

  4. Cliff Lyon Says:

9:53 am MST. Its still UP! JD is probably up to his ears shredding this weeks sexual harassment complaints on the base.

  5. JM Bell Says:

    That’s Comedy Gold.

  6. Cliff Lyon Says:

1:50 pm. Still up! I forgot it was Saturday.

  7. Larry Bergan Says:

    JM Bell:

That story you told about relatives waiting in line to scold you at family gatherings is also comedy gold! Love your program!

  8. George Says:

Well, Mister Lyin’, at least you’re consistent. Consistently wrong, that is. JD Berger is not the webmaster over there, but let’s be real here: you’re not the sort of person that allows those pesky facts to get in your way, so why should misidentifying one of your critics be any different?

He’s already deleted it, and wants to return your money.

    Dumbass.

  9. Albert O. Says:

    George:

Don’t know you, personally, but I can already tell by the tenor of your thoughtful post that no matter how much evidence and logic is thrown your way, you’ll still believe that God somehow foresaw the need for boundless idiots on this planet to require guns to protect themselves.

    Good day, sir.

  10. George Says:

    Albert O.

So long as there are boundless idiots such as yourself running around without direct adult supervision, I’ll keep my guns, thank you.

Good day to you as well, sir

  11. Who is watching the watchers? Says:

The invention of guns are simply the manifestation of unyielding politics brought to its inevitable conclusion.

The tiresome event of being trampled by those that you detest and don’t share values with demanded its invention. They attack, you attack, it pays to be armed in a superior way. There is no morality involved, it is a simple physics event. Your morality doesn’t mean squat, if your enemy pillages you.

The kinetic projectile weapon is as old as the caveman. The gun is just a upgraded version of the thrown rock, which became the sling, which evolved to arrows, ballistae, and the like. It is all about range and lethality. Keep those that would subdue others with their mouths, guile, or brute force honest. Or at least at a distance.

Sometimes people tire of being jacked by others through political intrigue and parasitism. Break out what you need, and come to the truth of destruction of enemies. Without it, transgressors don’t know their boundaries. Weakness invites mayhem. The worlds’ history is full of it.

God didn’t make man equal, Colonel Colt did. He and many others. From the days of the wheelock.

Since there is no one watching the watchers, it pays to be the more dangerous animals on the planet. Guns are all about that. Walk pacific if you wish, no amount of morality, explaining or wishful thinking is going set those of a mind from protecting themselves.

If you are suspect that an enemy or criminal opportunity is near enough to take pause, would an evolved creature wait and see to ensure its survival? Think about it. Much of America is uncivilized if we had not noticed.

We are here, without fear…get used to it.

6 people knifed to death in 24 hrs in London yesterday.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1034472/SIX-stabbed-death-just-24-hours-Blade-Britains-knife-epidemic-spirals-control.html

Time to turn in your kitchen knives.

  12. Cliff Lyon Says:

You can always tell a sissy by how often they mention their guns.

I know George. George is one of those sissies.

Keep you money. Use it to by some integrity.

  13. George Says:

Since I didn’t mention guns at all until your sock puppet Albert brought it up, I’m not much of a sissy, Cliffy.

Projection reveals a lot more about you than it does me, Mister Lyin’.

  14. Albert O. Says:

    Georgie:

It’s Sunday. Shouldn’t you be at the range plinking some .22 shorts and following that up with some nice cool lemonade?

  15. jdberger Says:

Way to fly your freak flag, Cliff.

As usual, your internet search skills suck. That ain’t me…. At least you’re consistent, though!

But hey, if you’re trying to memorialize OneUtah - how about a nice donation to the Eddie Eagle program.

If Sex Ed keeps kids from getting preggo and STDs - wouldn’t Gun Ed keep kids from irresponsible gun use?

Maybe it’d help keep folks like Cliff from threatening people (yeah - you know you did, Cliff).

  16. jdberger Says:

Here ya go, Cliffy. I gave you some props, Babe.

  17. Cliff Lyon Says:

Well there’s your proof. Gun freaks are spineless little, yellow bellied, chickadees. I’ve been BANNED from “The Real Gun Girls Guys” blog.

I responded to a comment from the author offering to send me my $5 back and I responded with something like; keep my $5 and buy yourself ’something’. I can’t remember.

I might have also insulted some Russian named Yuri who appeared to be the blog mascot.

So ends another chapter. Without firing a shot, another redneck blog bites the dust cause they can’t stand the heat.

Momma was right. The louder they pound their chest the more shriveled their equipment.

  18. jdberger Says:

Hmmm…maybe you were banned because you’re obnoxious?

Also, what makes you think they were “rednecks”?

Finally, why do you think that it’s ok to make fun of people due to their socio-economic status/culture/place of origin? That sure doesn’t sound like the civil rights icon you pretend to be, Cliff.

  19. Albert O. Says:

    Hmmmm.

Kinda makes you wonder what the Real Gun Guys are worried about. I mean, come on, all we are is a bunch of weak-kneed liberal pansies anyway. What possible threat could we pose the big bad REAL GUN GUYS???

Or, perhaps, the Real Gun Guys are really just a bunch of short-sighted republican chickenhawks with absolutely no guts for anything but sitting around a campfire while trading favorite Rush Limbaugh talking points.

Oh Georgie … tells us you favorite Hannity comment again…. But don’t let anyone respond because they’ll probably make you look like the rubber chicken that you are!!! Squawk, squawk, squawk ….

  20. Larry Bergan Says:

    REAL GUN GUYS.

    PHONY AMERICANS!

  21. George Says:

    You guys are pathetic.

You’re wrong on the facts, wrong on the merits, and you console yourselves with insults and slurs.

    Just Pathetic.

If I got a dollar for every time one of you losers mentioned the size of my penis, I could quit my job and buy a small parcel of land, like Montana.

Face it, losers: I have guns and you don’t. And there is not a blessed thing you can do about it, either. Why? Because I have ammunition to go with those guns, and if you try to take them, I will kill you. Just keep on hiding and whining, like you always do.

  22. George Says:

And by the way, Cliffy, where’s the posting about how you signed onto GunChat this past Sunday? And got your ass handed to you?

    (cricket noises)

    Yeah, didn’t think so.

    Loser.

  23. Albert O. Says:

    GEORGIE:

I thought about responding to your post, but then decided against it once I realized I would need to lower myself to the level required to converse with you - I really don’t enjoy slithering around at the level of pond scum.

Enjoy your evening, Georgie! You are obviously a remarkably intelligent teenager.

  24. Cliff Lyon Says:

Oh the Chat at Real Guns? Same old revisionist crap right from the NRA. BORING!

  25. Bob S. Says:

    Cliff,

Day 9 that you are back from your vacation without addressing the Heller Decision.

Maybe you can read it and come up with something new, you know, not parroting the Brady Campaign or Violence Policy Center. What do you say Champ, want to give it a shot?

  26. Albert O. Says:

    Bob:

Interesting how confident you are in the correctness of Heller, yet your knees are near bleeding from shaking together knowing the the decision was a 5-4 split.

Your gloating should be tempered and cautious, my friend, as you well know the decision does nothing to prevent regulation of the newly held personal right to keep and bear arms that serves a compelling interest of the government.

Remember, dude, the decision was a 5-4 split; only one justice need change his mind for everything to go the other way and place you where you feel most comfortable: fearful and on the defensive!

  27. Bob S. Says:

    Albert,

I am confident in the Heller decision because of a couple of factors.

1st, it was an extremely well written decision that answered most of the arguments gun banners used. Many common issues were addressed and fell on the individual right side such as the distinction between keep and bear. Scalia’s opinion will be used, in my opinion, to overturn the limitation to keeping firearms in just the home. I expect to see some form of open or concealed carry laws in DC very soon. They’ll fight but the city will loose. Other issues were also addressed that make it unlikely to be overturned; such as restrictions for felons, mental illness, etc.
The opinion was very comprehensive and well written, covering most of the areas future courts might be involved in.

2nd, The dissenting opinions were not very strong, in my opinion. Even the dissents recognize the 2nd as an individual right, just one in conjunction with militia. The “interest balancing” scrutiny mentioned by Breyer is actually no more than what Congress should do when writing the law. All told, they is nothing that really stands up to Scalia’s opinion.

3rd For the first time, the Supreme Court has ruled the 2nd amendment to be a individual right and classified it as a “specifically enumerated right. This sets a high standard for future action. It also provided a definitive statement that it is an individual right that exists separate and apart from the militia use. This will be a hard precedent to overturn. 1 justice might have made the difference when there was no explicit endorsement of an individual right being a specifically enumerated right, now we have that and future courts will have to show an even more compelling reason to overturn it.

Your mind reading and comprehension skills are still lacking. My comments earlier weren’t out of knee shaking fear but out of resolve to continue to fight for my rights. I realize, and many others do, that Heller can be overturned. That many cities and states are going to fight doing the right thing, even as DC. The Supreme Court tells them their rules concerning handguns are out the window and the cities adopts very close to the same laws, but allowing people to register.

I’m not sure what you are trying to say in your second paragraph, but I’ll reply to what I think it’s about. Yes, the decision stated that “reasonable restrictions” are allowed, that no right is unfettered. The next round, next decade or two, will see many cases deciding what is reasonable and what is not.

Many cities are already re-writing their laws to comply with the decision. Many are fighting it tooth and nail. While it keeps people from exercising their rights, eventually the cities that fight are going to do the most good for pro 2nd amendment rights folks.
The court cases will help resolve what is reasonable and what is not. One of the well known pro gun bloggers has a simple question

Can you demonstrate one time or place, throughout all history, where the average person was made safer by restricting access to handheld weapons?

I think we are going to see a large number of court cases showing that restricting access to handheld weapons doesn’t make the average person safer and thereby loosing restrictions on firearms.

Please tell me why taking what I feel are safe and sane precautions re firearms makes me “fearful”. This is a claim anti-gun folks throw out all the time. Do you have fire-extinguishers in your home? Are you fearful of fire? How about car insurance? Are you fearful of accidents?
