Save the Males!

From the London Daily Mail:

“American author Kathleen Parker’s courageous thesis is that initially, through extreme feminism, then via its craven implementation into society, women have demonised men and trivialised their contribution, especially to family life.

“I say courageous because, in the eyes of many women and of the liberal establishment, suggesting men have had a rough deal is nothing short of heresy.

“Parker should be burnt at the stake, they cry. But isn’t it ironic that only a woman could make such a plea for men?

“She argues: ‘As long as men feel marginalised by the women whose favour and approval they seek, as long as they are alienated from their children and treated as criminals by family courts, as long as they are disrespected by a culture that no longer values masculinity tied to honour, as long as boys are bereft of strong fathers and our young men and women wage sexual war, then we risk cultural suicide.’

“It’s enough to set a feminist’s hair on end.”

Yes, but it is enough to put the One Utah gang’s (balding) hair on end? :)

Sorry…here is the link to the story:

I actually hadn’t noticed that “extreme feminism” was running rampant in America. It looked like extreme right wing ideology had the upper hand.

Poor picked on males. Does someone need a hug?

The males don’t need saving, they just need to evolve a little bit. Some of them already are: http://oneutah.org/2007/01/24/in-praise-of-evolving-men/

    “extreme feminism”?

Where is this happening? Feminism has taken several hits and has yet to recover, let alone become extreme.

Since feminism is the radical notion that men and women deserve equal rights, what is extreme feminism? That men and women deserve extreme equal rights?

Read the article and found it full of B.S.

So men are portrayed badly by the media? Boo-hoo, women are still treated as sex objects by the media. Get used to it. Corporate media exploits both men and women, but I’m willing to bet that women still get the brunt of it and are more damaged by it. It’s produced to make money and has no morality.

So women can have babies without men? Just who is donating all the sperm? There may be some women who want to have kids on their own (they might be getting to a certain age and not in a committed relationship, and hey, society rams the idea down our throats from the day we are born that we are meant to produce children , so what do you expect?) but many women would like to have kids in a committed relationship but can’t — the father may not want to be in a relationship, the father may be abusive.

The educational system may need some tweaking - it wasn’t long ago that girls were being left behind because schools catered to boys, so this is probably a pendulum swing that will hopefully settle down somewhere in the middle. It would be nice if women who get the same degrees as men could get the same pay and chance for advancement that their male counterparts do, but that will happen eventually.

As for men being feminized — this is just silly. Men’s fashion has gone through many transformations over the centuries. Men wore make-up and tights long decades before women did. As for men shaving their chests, it’s just a fad. I personally prefer a little hair on the chest for men. I’ll like it better when hair (on men and women) is considered sexy again.

The only complaint I can really see having any validity is how fathers are treated by the court system, but I think that will change eventually too and does not mean the downfall of men.

Come on…I’m very sensitive about my balding. There’s gotta be something to take for it. Something I should ask my Doctor about, if I weren’t priced out of the insurance game by other priorities such as my conquest of the oil-fields?

Paul, you little arsonist…:) You make me proud. I too LOVE bashing feminists. The sex afterwards is always MUCH better.

Unfortunately, her argument really has nothing to do with feminism. Kathleen Parker is just another right-wing whore trying to sell hyper crap because she can’t write. She’s also a pompous little Daddy’s girl whose demeanor screams, “don’t you dare threaten my cozy, little fairy tale world view.”

Jenni is right. Men are scum and we’ve been exploiting women for sport and gain forever.

But its not feminism that’s allowed women to fight back, its the enforcement of laws against murder and wife-beating…..Errr, Uh.

I guess that IS feminism. Damn those extreme laws…

    Never mind.
