“The Speech” (part four)

Okay that was . . . amazing.

This was the Obama we have been waiting for - the visionary, the leader, the American son calling us to our highest selves but not pulling any punches, not shying away from the fight.

I’m not thinking JFK tonight. I’m thinking FDR - FDR called out his opponents, challenged them, undid their rhetoric in his speeches. He was a fearless, cagey politician, who had a gift for sensing where America was heading and helping us get there. That’s what I saw tonight in Obama’s speech - FDR, standing at the center of a crisis and pointing to the way out.

Barack Obama - our next President.

PS - Alterman on MSNBC just described the McCain campaign’s response as the equivalent of being speechless. He suggested that the McCain campaign was probably focus grouping the speech and it tested well.

A mediocre speech…had its moments…typical Big Government Liberal (BGL) talk…except this time EVERYTHING was promised…(if Obama was LDS and had the priesthood, he would have promised to heal everyone of thier ills…like Jesus)…a tele-prompter speech is supposed to be his strength, not this one.

Nice crowd…cool fireworks (maybe the Chinese orchestrated them?)…same old BGL undeliverables.

One other thing…what is most embarrassing is that a guy with ZERO charisma, McCain, is going to beat this guy (especially if Angry Mac picks Romney).

    Paul:

Your fear re the outcome of this election is pouring from your words.

My guess is, deep down, even your wife prays every day that Obama wins. She’s no dummy, and knows what’s good for her, your children, and even you.

PS. We can only hope that Mittard has a go at Biden; but, my guess is, the outcome will be little different from Obama showing McSame a whole new brand of torture.
