Does this come in a version with English subtitles?

How much does one pay to have eternity slapped in their face? And is it legal in Utah?

Among world religions, there is considerable variation in attitudes towards homosexuality, as there is within Christianity and Judaism. Islam, however, seems uniform in its condemnation of homosexuality. Lest the reader think, however, that critical attitudes towards homosexuality are limited to the Abrahamic religions, I would note the following.

The Confucian moral code emphasizes each person’s responsibility to society. Confucians are expected to get married and have children to fulfill their responsibility to their ancestors and their country. Relations which result in failure to fulfill one’s filial and reproductive duties are seen as disruptive and condemned.

Theravada Buddhist countries are not terribly open to homosexual practice.

The Dalai Lama has noted that all monks are expected to refrain from sex. For laypeople, he has commented that the purpose of sex in general is for procreation.

Most modern Hindus reject homosexuality on the basis that Hindu dharma generally requires men and women to marry and produce progeny.

In Jainism chastity is one of the five virtues in the fundamental ethical code. For laypersons, the only appropriate avenue for sexuality is within marriage, and homosexuality is believed to lead to negative karma.

The world’s highest Sikh religious authority has described homosexuality as against the Sikh religion and the Sikh code of conduct and totally against the laws of nature,

The Zoroastrian faith has historically been strongly opposed to homosexual behavior.

Yes, and all of them artifacts of emergence political systems, systems of social control that evolved to provide order and maintain entrenched class systems.

God, of course, does not exist, but rather reflects our humanity both wondrous and at the same time, selfish.

  5. Leo Brown Says:

Even granting your thesis that religion is purely a product of humanity, the case could just as well be made that religions developed to challenge entrenched class systems and to oppose selfishness, materialism, and narcissism.

I think we need a category on this blog for religio-phobia. If religio-phobes dominate the left, the 21st century right will continue its ascendancy, further entrenching class systems and an ethos of personal greed and nationalistic militarism.

Hey look, it just isn’t a good idea generally to be practicing anal sex for just about anyone. Maybe today it can be done safely, but the sexual event in an orifice not meant for the job leads to ripping and tearing of anal tissues, which leads to internal bleeding, in which diseases are easily transmitted.

Then for all of us there is this rather unpleasant consideration.

“God, of course, does not exist”. Whistling past the graveyard Cliff again. One of the wonderful things about life, and death, is we all get the opportunity to find out what lies beyond the veil. Such predictions are a little more speculative than say predicting that McCain will win the presidency.

“Any of you homos touch my stuff, and I’ll kill you”

Francis the Homophobe from “Stripes” with Bill Murray and Harold Ramis.

So in that religion elements do not advocate the gay lifestyle.

What are you more worried about:

Boys kissing boys, or Blackwater mercinaries enforcing anti-Mormon, dominionist philosophy?
