Robert Kennedy, Jr. wrote a terrific article on this topic for Rolling Stone a couple of years ago. After reading that, I thought maybe we ought to have a U.N. team come and and observe our elections.
Thanks Cliff, I heard about this Simpson’s episode and didn’t want to miss the segment.
If our voting system was a joke, it would be bad enough, but the unfunny joke always gets played on Democrats running for congress or the presidency who, frankly, don’t seem to care about the danger these machines pose, and never seem particularly bothered by the other myriad methods of election theft that have been proven. These are very strange times. How can this be happening?
Unless I’m mistaken, “Rolling Stone” magazine has covered the computer voting problem better then “Wired.” I think that’s strange. “Wired” should have lead the charge against this nonsense.
I wonder if Homer Simpson realizes that Barack Hussein Obama has close ties to the domestic terrorist Bill Ayres, very much as radical and dangerous and Timothy McVeigh was. Does Homer know that Barack Hussein Obama is a puppet for the Chicago mob controlled Mayor Daley? Does Homer know that Barack Hussein Obama belonged to an extreme racist anti-American hate church for 20 years and who’s former pastor is as bit as radical and hateful as the “Reverend” Fred Phelps and only “resigned” the racist “church” for political expediency? Does Homer know that Barack Hussein Obama is as far left as the Marxist Hugo Chevez of Venezuela? Does Homer know that Barack Hussein Obama wants to sit down and negotiate with rogue dictators that have vowed the destruction of Israel and the United States? I bet if Homer Simpson knew that Barack Hussein Obama was the biggest threat to national security than any major candidate in the history of this nation he would say “Doh!” and really vote for McCain.
Larry, I notice the conservatives are getting onboard with concerns about voter fraud this time around after pooh-poohing it four years ago. Since their guy is falling further behind.
Someone help me, I’ve started watching Fox News. I just saw a commercial for Christian film starrting Kirt Cameron. Ick, why did I look?
Obama may be the “biggest threat to national security than any major candidate in the history of this nation” if you take out Reagan, Bush I, and Bush II.
Ken, and the rights’ concern about ‘voter fraud’ is better apprehended in the sense of how to perpetrated said fraud without being caught. First you mix lies with some caging and elimination of potential voters; then you add a dash of swift-boat, so as to diminish, however unfairly, the qualities the oppo is offering; then, when all is looking as if there may be a squeeker; you remind everyone that Osama is still lurking with his finger on the trigger, and finally you massage the numbers with just an almost indistinguishable tweek from the proprietary Diebold container. If this doesn’t bring about the desired results, with fanfare, up the terrorst alert level and prepare the martial law option.
Oh yea, in this years theatrical offering there will be a ‘liberal’ splash of perfume to divert everyone from the actual horrors that have been perpetrated by the right thinking leadership and its sup0porters. Pallets of cash.
As one who is studying IT, Ken should know that proprietary electronic voting machines in which the source code is NOT public, provides zero assurance against fraud.
So many of us are on the record having screamed at the top of our lungs against HAVA.
So in the absence of any forceful opposition from Republicans the majority Republican congress jammed it through in time to steal the 2004 election.
I don’t know whether Ken is being cute and glib or deaf and dumb to suggest he is concerned about voter fraud.
Actually, I do have concerns with these voter machines but remember it was Algore that brought into question paper balloting that caused us to move to voter machines.
Ken, It would be hard to make a more useless argument than to blame it on Al Gore. Apparently you do not know what went on with HAVA long after Gore was out of the picture.
Get the words “voter fraud” out of your head. “Election fraud” at high levels is the danger. Mean people suck, Ken. Stop being one. ACORN is another bogey man the republicans point to in their overused tactic of accusing the honest people of doing what THEY are doing, which is stealing elections. They know they can’t win without doing so, because you can’t fool millions of people into voting for thugs, even when every media outlet helps them lie.
The myth of voter fraud is very important to the republicans, because if they lose big enough next month, the jails may be filling up with their ilk. Study up on the attorney scandal. The reason these top lawyers were fired was because they were doing their job. The ones that got retained were/ARE going along with the plan to shove fascism down the throats of the people who live in what used to be the greatest democracy in the world. What are we now?
Go to hell, Ken! Your dream job at Diebold isn’t going to happen. Voting machines of all types are going to be nothing more then a stain on the fabric of our society and will NOT tear it into pieces any more. Americans are no longer going to watch our elections being made into a joke for late night television and sitcoms, and corrupt election corporations are not going to get any more of our dimes to make fools of us.
I may not trust the voting machines but do you think hackers are going to set it up for McCain? Also if Diebold were to make the source code public it would make it all the more easy to exploit any vulnerabilities. That’s one reason (besides being the Corporation of Satan) Microsoft is so reluctant to release its source code.
They say the reason Republicans are soft on illegal immigration is because of the cheap labor, and Democrats for votes. That is one of the reasons Democrats fight so vehemently against voter ID. The truth is voter fraud is wrong no matter who engages in it. It should be punishable by death because it robs us of the liberty millions have fought and died for.
Of course the supreme irony of the Diebold/Premier voting machines is they’re a branch of the same company that makes ATMs. Imagine if the banks provided no accountability, no audits, no paper trail, etc. with ATM service!
I’m sorry I told you to go to hell. Your last comment actually made some sense because as an IT guy, you really should be concerned about the machines. Of course they’re going to try to set the machines up for McCain and many other Republicans like they did in previous years, but if all the Democrats who registered and voted in the primaries this time manage to overwhelm the machines and other fraud methods to give the Democrats a solid majority, the Republicans and every media corporation is going to focus only on “voter fraud” and that’s where all the lawyers will be involved. The voting machines will be ignored as if they didn’t exist unless the media starts to see the Republicans as a sinking ship and start to report the stories they’ve blacked out for many years now.
This year is really a wild card. The “voter fraud” scam is somewhat known, and some very interesting court cases are going to be coming out of Ohio concerning the 2004 election thefts. Within the next couple of months, we may find out how free we really are. Troops are being brought in for unknown purposes right now to oversee the American populace and to keep an eye on troublemakers under new, totalitarian powers.
I don’t see any way of trusting our voting system unless we hand mark, and hand count real ballots, (not punch cards.) The “experts” will scream and shout that it can’t be done. I can’t believe Americans have let this happen. We should all be fighting on the same side here. Are we incapable of counting votes in public and posting the totals at the precinct for all to see? We will probably never get to find out, and the world is laughing at our arrogance to call ourselves “The Greatest Country on the Face of The Earth.”
Bob S, the ick was for Kirt (Curt?) Cameron. Have you noticed how rather creepy he has become?
The plea for help is because I’ve been switching to Fox during commercials or when no other news is on. Luckily, I got out of the house this weekend and gained some new perspective and self-control. I am resolved to only watch YouTube clips of anything Fox.

Too close to the truth. Thanks, Diebold.

I see you got the memo, Ken. Stick with that innuendo and outright lies. No need to bother yourself with finding out the truth.

We conservatives have always been concerned with voter fraud. Take for instance the radical group ACORN which Barack Obama was affiliated with.

Since Obama is an owned patsy of Mayor Daley you can bet there will be a lot of dead people voting in November.

But then, just maybe.

I hate to say it, but Ken is right. I found proof.

Just wondering, are you referring to Fox News or the commercial for the movie Fireproof?
Either way, what was “ick”?
