Election Day in Utah

I votedI’ve already voted. Vote by mail is the way to go. If you want to, you can vote now in person at the Salt Lake County Clerk’s office. Soon we will be able to vote at various sites around the county. You can also fill out the vote by mail ballot and hand carry it to the Clerk’s office. Voter registration can be carried in until the 20th of October.

I voted twice today. I usually vote three or four times.

Word is going around that it is a bad idea to vote a straight party ballot. There have been some problems with some of the software. Also, depending on where you vote, make sure the door to the printer isn’t closed when you vote. Make sure to look at the printout. It will never be counted, and may not even match what gets entered into the computer chips, but you have the right to look at the printout anyway.

Unfortunately, we have to trust Diebold programmers to be honest. Personally, I prefer the purple finger method more. Someday, maybe our elections will be as good as the ones in Iraq.
