Orrin Hatch is disappointed in the wrong thing
The Trib:
Utah senator disappointed in colleague’s convictions
After Monday’s conviction, Hatch released this statement: “It is very disappointing to see this verdict today. In my dealings with Sen. Ted Stevens, I have always found him to be very honest and straightforward. My prayers are with the senator and his wife and family at this difficult time.”
Maybe what should disappoint borin’ Orrin isn’t the verdict but the fact that Ted Stevens broke the law.
It’s official - Orrin Hatch: wanker of the day.

Man, it’s gotta be tuff for the orrin, seeing his beloved repug party literally implode during his twilight years as a US senator from the great red state of Utah.

I’ll never be able to get beyond Orrins’ pronouncement directly after nine-one-one… something to the effect that they had some read on this catastrophe. It was quickly dis-remembered.
Also, there was the ‘overlap’ of e-mail communications throughout the senate offices that loopholed Hatch office spying on Dem strategists.
I guess I just like my senators to be a little more honest than they so often seem to be. Funny me.

McCain is now calling for Stevens to step down immediately. It made me wonder, could the following scenario happen: Stevens resigns immediately. His name remains on the ballot. Alaskans re-elect him. The Alaskan governor appoints a replacement to serve for him.

Republicans deserve to be able to break the law. Who’s going to stop the tax and spenders if they go to jail.

Cav:
The thing I remember Orrin saying after 911 is that the attackers were cowards. Bill Maher lost his show by refuting the claim. Orrin also told the world that we were listening to the terrorists on cell phones and got in trouble for it.
How did he get away with spying on democrats. I’m pretty sure he even admitted that. What the heck!
