Most Unpopular President Ever

A new CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey finds that President George W. Bush now has a 76 percent disapproval rating, making him by far the most deeply unpopular President in the history of polling.
“No other president’s disapproval rating has gone higher than 70 percent. Bush has managed to do that three times so far this year,” says CNN polling director Keating Holland. “That means that Bush is now more unpopular than Richard Nixon was when he resigned from office during Watergate with a 66 percent disapproval rating.”
Before Bush, the record holder for presidential disapproval was Harry Truman, with a 67 percent disapproval rating in January of 1952, his last full year in office.
We only have to suffer for another 70 days.

Since only 50% of the country voted for Bush, that means only half of the people who voted for him realize they were betrayed.
Thats not good. 25% of Americans are solid tools.

That’s going some, to be more unpopular than Richard Nixon who resigned rather than be impeached. Clearly Americans don’t appreciate presidents who are lawbreakers.

Yep, and the only thing worse than a president who breaks the law, is an American who thinks its OK.

Are you sure you really believe in that Cliff considering your own rather checkered past? I know, I am one of the few to know, but remember your karma.

Pretty soon we’ll need shovels to get an accurate read on this admins numbers.

Ken seems to have the numbers thing down, perhaps he can interpret for us.
Isn’t it past time to stop spending emotion on the man? Really it seems a bit of wasted energy. Knowing what he is, and the oppositions inability to stop him, led me to simply suspend any emotion, and move on with better thoughts, several years ago.
It’s like harboring ill will against the mindless crocodile that ate your dog.

Maybe the numbers help explain what’s wrong with Barney lately. Not a happy camper at all. He’s lived almost his whole life in the White House, and now it comes to an ignominious end. In retrospect, maybe it wasn’t a good idea to let Barney plan Iraq strategy.

So Americans really DON”T like snarky pricks. Makes me proud! I hate seeing this abomination compared to Nixon, I watched part of a Frontline program about Nixon a couple of weeks ago and he was George Washington in comparison. It’s going to feel like gravity has lessened; hell, it already does. Wheeee!
It is a gleeful time! Cheer up glenn!

I am not changing any demeanor until the penny drops.
Obama is already suspect in the eyes of some progressives for probable Treasury appointments of the criminals that have arrived us at this fiscal debacle.
Not to mention Rahm, “I’ll send you a dead fish”, Emanuel, who I know you are a big fan of.
All celebrations postponed until 100 days go by in his presidency. It isn’t looking as good as hoped from my view.

Glenn
I agree with you. If barrack Obama is all about “change” then why all the Clinton retreads? Just like you said some of the key players that caused our current economic downturn are the ones that our going to be making and implementing Obama’s economic policy.
I have a feeling many liberals are going to be very disappointed in the Obama Presidency but they will be reluctant to come out and say it. I am certainly willing to give Obama a chance to prove us all wrong and if he does I will be man enough to admit it, but so far his actions have only reinforced my opinion.
I tell you one thing if he can enact his stated policies and keep this country from falling apart, intact, and maintain a booming economy, that will indeed be a colossal achievement.

Time will tell, time will tell…and though many may not believe it possible, beware republicans pulling a rabbit out of their hat 2 years from now.

“… maintain a booming economy …”
Priceless analysis as usual Ken.

Ken said about Obama:
Were you impressed after Clinton dug us out of the Reagan/Bush years? I felt as safe as I ever have during those years which Bill Maher amusingly calls “prosperitygate.” If Obama can get us back to something similar, it will be a miracle. Will you be hailing him when that happens?
glenn:
You are, undoubtedly, going to have to sit down and eat a big plate of “they’re all the same” with your crow on Obamas first day in office, I guarantee you that. You KNOW I’m right!
November 10th, 2008 at 11:22 pm
Ken keeps trying to pop our bubble, but it just won’t work. Knowing Obama days are coming, I am feeling this incredible lightness of being. I feel we are in good hands. That our interest is his interest. Ken, try thinking positively about this. You’re in it whether you like it or not. Give it a try.

Ken is just desperately trying to be right about something, while forever trying to live up to some ’special’ standard of loyalty which, in Davis County, can get you sent to an east side Ward.
Obama has thrown him for a loop.
If you watch Fixed News these days, you will find Kens’ post eerily similar to the party line capitulation.
Everyone whose called Obama a Marxist is now saying he ran a centrist campaign. Hmmm
November 10th, 2008 at 11:57 pm
Well, Ken, forget THAT standard of loyalty. I’m Davis County, east of the highway. What do you know about my loyalities? Would you like to know more? You could get there yet!

We will see, it is looking pretty similar from the character of the appointments.
I voted for him knowing that this was coming.
The ME policy will be the proof, and right now Bush et al is laying the minefield as we write. Meanwhile Obama is now traveling with a full on military counter strike team, so nervous are people for his safety.
I don’t know about you, but the pall of reality over what is coming will likely give the most optimistic pause. John Corzine for Treasury? Governor of the broke state of New Jersey and former Goldman Sachs (Sacks like a Viking, more like it)?
It is looking the same Larry to me.
November 12th, 2008 at 12:47 am
If Obama canceled ONE Bush executive order which gave him more unnecessary power against us, it wouldn’t be the same glenn, but as you must know, he is looking at canceling HUNDREDS of them.
What is the same here?
