Boy we really dodged a bullet. Though she may still have her eye on a senate seat.
Palin blames Bush policies for GOP defeat
WASILLA, Alaska – Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, amid speculation she’ll run for president in four years, blamed Bush administration policies for the defeat last week of the GOP ticket and prayed she wouldn’t miss “an open door” for her next political opportunity.
“I’m like, OK, God, if there is an open door for me somewhere, this is what I always pray, I’m like, don’t let me miss the open door,” Palin said in an interview with Fox News on Monday. “And if there is an open door in ‘12 or four years later, and if it is something that is going to be good for my family, for my state, for my nation, an opportunity for me, then I’ll plow through that door.”
May I suggest, if she is anticipating a future in politics, she should lose the Roseanne Barr “I’m like” language. And while she’s at it try a different wave than what Chris Matthews calls the windshield wiper.
And the clothing issue just won’t die.
Republican National Committee lawyers are still trying to determine exactly what clothing was bought for Palin, what was returned and what has become of the rest.
Her father, Chuck Heath, said Palin spent part of the weekend going through her clothing to determine what belongs to the Republican Party.
“She was just frantically … trying to sort stuff out,” Heath said. “That’s the problem, you know, the kids lose underwear, and everything has to be accounted for. Nothing goes right back to normal,”
I’m like, thank you God that she missed this door.
UPDATE: I watched a bit of the Matt Lauer interview and I must say, the woman can multi-task–fix dinner while fielding questions. Definitely a mom thing. I can relate.

I say we do whatever possible to give this lady a platform for the next four years. Make her the face of the Republican party and then maybe if we are so lucky (if we are so blessed) she will be the Republican nominee in 2012. I think we should make a new word – wingnuticide. Anyone with me?

I think the more she is allowed to talk, the clearer her qualifications for the job will be to everyone. I predict she will remain popular with a certain group for all the same reasons she is now. But it won’t be enough to convince the pubs to run her in 2012. But it will be fun to watch.

She basically told Matt Lauer that win or lose, she planned to steal the spotlight from McCain on election night. Only the campaign people vetoed it. Talk about “Sarah Barracuda.”

Definitely a woman thing. Men just don’t have the capacity to multitask like that.

jd, don’t force me to challenge you to a bake-off WHILE we play scrabble.

I don’t bake. It requires precise measurements. Not my style.
I also don’t do Scrabble. I get agitated when the tiles slip outside the lines.
I do play a mean game of Candyland, though.
