In Rexburg Idaho They Teach Bigotry at an Early Age
Just when you though children are better off with a Mom and Dad.
Idaho students chant ‘assassinate Obama’ on school bus
Madison County, Idaho was once dubbed "the reddest place in America" by Salon, but that didn’t make it any less shocking when elementary school children started chanting "assassinate Obama" on the school bus.
According to an article which appeared in Salon in 2006, "You’ve heard of Jesusland, but Rexburg, Idaho, is something more. It’s not just a small town in rural Eastern Idaho. It’s a small town in rural Eastern Idaho completely dominated by a fast-growing Mormon college, Brigham Young University-Idaho."
One of Rexburg’s lone Democrats, a professor at the university, told Salon that "she remembers the time when a group of classmates followed her third-grader home, shouting out ‘baby-killer’ all along the way. She took it up with the teacher, who didn’t seem to mind."
I am reminded of Paul Mero’s famous quote about raising progressive children: “Gay marriage leaves men, women and especially children handicapped in the sort of personal development a truly progressive civilization requires.”
Maybe its time for the LDS Church to take a deep breath and reconsider their political pulpitry.
Just sayin’.

Having lived not too far from there, I find that i am totally and completely not amazed in any way shape or form.
Behold, the good mormon.

It’s interesting to note that you express such horror at children chanting “assassinate Obama” but encourage children who threaten a girl wearing a McCain t-shirt. Further, you advocate the imprisonment of political rivals.
You’re just an old white pudgy version of Pol Pot, aren’t you?

JD?
Huh? Chanting “assassinate Obama” vs a school mate telling another school mate is stupid for wearing a McCain T-shirt.
Hmmm. Let me think…………
Assassinate President vs you are stupid.
Hmmm, tough one……
I guess I still have to go with “assassinate Obama”. I think that more worrisome to me anyway. I guess if you’re drunk enough you might get confused.
And yeah, I know what goes on under the porch. Thats why I sent you there. The other pups will find something useful for you to ‘be’.

For a supposed College graduate, you sure don’t read too good, Cliffy. And your research abilities suck, too.
Do you agree with such actions from the girl’s fellow students? Is this tolerance? Is this diversity?
Do you think that this little girl belongs in a “re-education camp”?
Do you, Cliffy?

The kids were upset with Catherine because McSame and the Republican regime are murders who have raped this country.
The assassinate Obama kids were already racist.
They are not at all the same. Have you ever studied Nazi Germany? Too many people couldn’t see the fascism happening right in front of them.
Too many people equivocated.
Too many.

You didn’t answer even one of the questions - though you did manage to use the reductio ad Hitlerum argument.
It really is sad how your last response is so typical of your ablility to reason.
I’ll give you another chance.
Be brave. Answer the questions.

JD,
OK, I’ll answer you question because it is such a clever one. Though, I must tell you, being clever will not earn you a spot on the porch with the Big Dogs.
No sir. The porch is reserved REAL Dogs not lap dogs.
The girl’s fellow students demonstrated a great deal of tolerance by not kicking the crap out of her.
The kids that told Catherine to die should be celebrated for taking a firm stand against corruption, vote fraud, and racism.
Catherine’s act was no different than going to school in black face or wearing a swastika.
I don’t suppose you would answer a question for me in return???
Just in case; Do think the Bush administration. should be prosecuted after they leave office for the 30 or so articles of impeachment are also criminal?
Should nyone be prosecuted for sending Don Siegelman to jail?
November 15th, 2008 at 12:17 pm
I think that if you can find the crimes, prosecute away.
And tear the nation apart…..and distract the Obama presidency from delivering all the unicorns, bunnies and rainbows that have been promised.
Go for it.
And Cliffy, the above proves quite nicely, that you are a fascist. A potbellied Pol Pot.

I think at a 25% approval rating, the suggestion that prosecuting Bush would tear this country apart is a fantasy.
In no time in our history has the country been so united in their disappointment in Bush.
The economic crises is tearing this country up. When did we decide that holding the president to the rule of law is unimportant?
Most of the 25% don’t really give a shit about Bush, and those that ARE concerned somehow for Bush’s feelings, are certainly not the sort of Americans by which we should allow this country or the Presidency be defined.

Polling data, Cliffy.
Polling data….
Bring on the prosecution, porky.

Whether republic, democrat or something else, I doubt this is the heart of the issue. As I see it, there’s a principle that we should be following, despite our political beliefs. When we feel something is amiss, it is good to seek a better understanding of the situation, it is appropriate to speak up, and it is great when we take steps to try to make a difference.
However, neither chanting “assassinate Obama” nor saying “you should be [crucified]” are sensible nor constructive actions. Irregardless of our political views, we should hope that we, our families, and our communities express our views in a respectable manner; regardless of political or religious views, sexual orientation, or what city we live in.
